Did it get an ending or was it cancelled abruptly?

Literally can’t be bothered to start a show that doesn’t have an ending already. Why invest any time with a show that doesn’t give a shit about the story and just wants to make money and cancels the moment profitability is gone.

[–] scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech 12 points 8 months ago (3 children)

Yeah studios hate this because they want to know how invested people are to know if they should continue. However they made the problem themselves by cancelling so many good shows.

Netflix leaked that if something isn't crazy popular after season 1 it won't get picked up again, which is asinine because we all know so many shows don't get their legs until season 2 or 3

If one thing hasn't been abundantly clear by now is that the people who are currently calling the shots need to have that power revoked.

RIP The Expanse. Relatable meme.

[–] 01189998819991197253@infosec.pub 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

The exact show that came to mind when I saw this meme. I WANT MORE!

[–] TheControlled@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

There's hope. Just rumors, but hope.

[–] sheogorath@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (2 children)

IIRC the current plan is to secure a new source of funding. It might take years, but I think it'll work out because the next novel is basically a time skip to a new arc with a new set of main characters.

[–] 01189998819991197253@infosec.pub 1 points 8 months ago

They're books?! Flippin A!

[–] TheControlled@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

Give me Naomi or give me death.

[–] tenchiken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 8 months ago (3 children)

Mr. Robot 🫗

I rewatch that one every year or so now. So good.

[–] tenchiken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Sam being the one to kill him, and the whole "Goodbye friend" bit, about destroyed me. Last season had some amazing bits.

[–] tenchiken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 8 months ago

It's only a little death... Nothing permanent at that point. Then it's gets really good.

[–] ryry1985@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

Same. I wish I could watch it for the first time again.

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Then I'd have to sit through the second season again. I almost stopped watching the show after that season. It got much better again after and saved itself.

[–] HowMany@lemmy.ml 9 points 8 months ago (1 children)

When Firefly abruptly stops towards the end of season 1.

[–] 01189998819991197253@infosec.pub 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

At least we got a movie. It wasn't enough, but it was better than nothing.

[–] HowMany@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

A hasty finish up but done in good faith. Yep.

[–] idunnololz@lemmy.world 8 points 8 months ago

There will never be another Bojack horseman T_T

[–] A_Very_Big_Fan@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago

Me for years after Breaking Bad, then again after Better Call Saul

Parks and Recreation. Rest in peace, baby.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago

Watch One Piece.

[–] Pothetato@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago

Now you watch YouTube videos and read discussions about the show.

[–] pythonoob@programming.dev 5 points 8 months ago

The Expanse :/

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.de 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Start watching It's always sunny in philadelphia, but skip season 1.

[–] RQG@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (2 children)

Why skip the fist? I haven't watched it but people keep recommending it.

[–] nooneescapesthelaw@lemmy.ml 5 points 8 months ago (2 children)

First season doesn't have frank reynolds/danny devito so maybe that's why

[–] BolexForSoup@kbin.social 2 points 8 months ago

S1 is like 6 or 7 episodes and the show is pretty much all bottle episodes (with callbacks) so it’s pretty skippable as a result.

First season isn't bad, it's a little more grounded in reality. As a person who watched it when it premiered, it was something new and wild, but it's definitely tamer, and also as someone mentioned, does not have the craziness of Danny Devito.

[–] RQG@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Doesn't seem like an instant skip to me. But good to know that if I find it a bit tame then I can keep watching or skip to the next season.

Try binging an entire show for several nights in a row just to find out the last episode hasn't aired yet...

[–] lichtmetzger@feddit.de 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Shitt's Creek could've gone on forever, change my mind.

[–] 01189998819991197253@infosec.pub 2 points 8 months ago

I will not change your mind. I agree completely.

[–] SebSnares@feddit.de 3 points 8 months ago

Six seasons and a movie 🥲

[–] BigDaddySlim@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

I binge watched Bill Hader's "Barry" when the last season came out and didn't know what to do afterwards.

Also had the same feeling when Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad both ended. Such good shows.

[–] kamehameherp@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I honestly don't know what I'll do when One Piece ends, I've been watching it for the majority of my life.

[–] kratoz29@lemm.ee 1 points 8 months ago

Rewatch?

Wait for Netflix to finish the adaptation? /s

[–] FunkyMonk@kbin.social 2 points 8 months ago

There is always anime.

[–] TheYear2525@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

At least we still had some Angel left.

[–] 01189998819991197253@infosec.pub 1 points 8 months ago

The vampire show? I never could get into it, even after watching several seasons, and thoroughly enjoying the actors' skill levels. But that theme song... I have it on my music player. It's so good!

[–] EnderMB@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

That's me waiting for more episodes of Hajime No Ippo.

[–] LongbottomLeaf@lemmy.nz 2 points 8 months ago

Narcos? Now begins the rewatch with subtitles set to Español.

[–] 01189998819991197253@infosec.pub 1 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Do what I do, and start that mess over! You know what's better than watching your favorite show? Watching it again!

[–] sheogorath@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

I have never been able to watch something more than once. The only movie that I can watch more than once is Pacific Rim, because big robots and the story flows so well you don't realize you're already at the end of the movie.

[–] Enzy@lemm.ee 1 points 8 months ago

Me at the SGU cliffhanger.

[–] kratoz29@lemm.ee 1 points 8 months ago

That will be me when Attack on Titan ends this Nov 4.

[–] AlecSadler@sh.itjust.works 1 points 8 months ago

Billions for me. The spinoffs don't sound appealing.
