And with a bit of luck we'll see the fall of the Russian Federation within ten years.

[–] instantnudel@feddit.org 22 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

Time for some speculation. What do you think will probally take over Russia when the Russian Federation falls.

Im really not that sure. Will it be a neoliberal state like in most of Western world? Will it be a Dictatorship all over again? Will it try communism again? (Imo very unlikly) Or something completely new that wasnt really tried yet.

Im really curious to see what will develop there. A fallen state is always new chance, but no clue if it gets better or maybe even worse. πŸ€”

It's unlikely for a nation to "fall" into democracy

World's first country governed by an LLM. A racist one developed by xAI, of course. Grokcracy, if you will.

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 5 points 3 weeks ago

I think you mean Π―AI

Perhaps that behemoth of a nation will split? It's kind of ridiculous that it's one nation all the way from Europe over Siberia to neighboring japan

I give it like a 40% chance of global thermonuclear annihilation and a 60% chance of chaos and warlordism, probably with a decades long US occupation on the justification of preventing nukes from falling into the hands of whoever this week's Al Qaida is.

I remember "ordering" those silicon Wii condoms (they were freely distributed as a measure of people breaking shit, hurting other family members, etc because people wouldn't use the wrist straps), and was so proud of getting away with ordering 4 while I only had 3 Wiimotes. I really thought I stuck it to the big company :p

So it’s your fault Nintendo is still trying to play catch up financially and that’s why they are so aggressively going after emulators, modders, and content creators smh

So it’s your fault Nintendo is still trying to play catch up financially

Are you aware of how much savings Nintendo has? Out of all Japanese companies they have the highest cash holding. They could literally go for 2 years without any income and still pay all of their employees wages and other expenses before running out of cash, and then they would still have all of their non-liquid assets.

Nintendo doesn't need to catch up financially, they are doing amazing

I didn’t think I would have to tag such an asinine comment as sarcasm but here we are

I had one of these

Competition Pro 4 Life. Those were indestructible.

[–] FreshLight@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

I had one like this but my table top had a bumpy pattern so the suction cups wouldn't hold. I played old Atari hits I'd gotten from a Cornflakes CD-ROM like Centipede etc.. Good times

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago

Dang, I still have that boi!

I guess I'm "this old"? I remember watching the Berlin wall get smashed on TV, and the collapse of the soviet Union a year or two later. I was a Lil kid in the U.S, so both events meant fuck all to me. I was busy being awesome in my MC Hammer parachute pants.

I was really confused why my mom was crying because people were breaking a wall down.

And then Knight Rider was there for some reason.

And then we got a small bag of concrete in the mail that was apparently from the wall that made my mom cry.

[–] comador@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

In sign language I cannot remember: "We are the World, we are the children..."

That old...

[–] mehdi_benadel@lemmy.balamb.fr 15 points 3 weeks ago

I am more than double Wii old 😒

[–] SlippiHUD@lemmy.world 11 points 3 weeks ago

That can't... oh, well fuck.

[–] Routhinator@startrek.website 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I see folks sharing a lot of joysticks I started with, but I think I'll go with the original Wiimote

I love that scene. I don't remember the glove ever being that responsive to motion controls 🀣

Full scene for the uninitiated

Man the Wii is so old, I still remember playing it on a tube TV.

[–] Pacmanlives@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

I am so old I remember the Wii-mote being sold without the condom that they started selling after so many people broke their new expansive flatscreen tv’s. Tube tvs faired better

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 5 points 3 weeks ago

I released one just this morning.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Yikes that is chilling

[–] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 5 points 3 weeks ago

Am I the only one who still thinks the Wii is pretty futuristic feeling? C'mon you wave a controller around without pressing any buttons and shit on the screen moves that's wild!

Maybe I have spent way too much time on the internet. That Wii Remote shape looks like it’s for someone’s pleasure.

This isn't a meme
