Walking two steps outside in socks and accidentally stepping on a slug... It was like 37 years ago... I'm still traumatized.
You want a slug-related traumatizing story ? I had a cat with very long hairs, there was a cat door to the garden outside but usually he slept inside. One morning i wake up and feel the cat close to me in the bed, something very common. I start to pet him on the dark being half awake only. After some time i feel something wet in his belly fur, but as I'm half sleepy I don't react and keep petting him. Only after what was probably a long time, I realized that something is wrong, turn on the light and see a slug curled/trapped inside his fur, I was touching it with my hand for several minutes!

You may consider foregoing children. Much like Thanos, wet socks are inevitable.
I have MS, and one of my minor symptoms is I sometimes get a feeling on the bottom of my foot being wet (temp change basically), giving me a wet sock feel. Fuck that symptom.
Jesus this sounds horrible. May some future changes in medication help you with that symptom.
I'm right there with you. I spent 10 years working in the boreal and in peatlands. I have an indescribable hatred for wet feet. Nothing like getting a booter, and having to deal with that all day.

All of them are like that in my experience
My hope for you is that someday you find that one, special hotel that changes everything.
Oh I mean it happens at home too lol it's never been super consistent between faucet and shower head. And I've lived a lot of places.

Wife says the same. Apparently socks are an automatic desiccation switch for her.
No because the shower head uses less water so I switch to it immediately.
But it takes 2 more minutes to heat up. You end up wasting more water waiting for it to become hot enough
Sounds like you have a bad water heater or pressure problem
Yeah, why would it take 2 minutes for the pipes to clear between the hot water heater and the shower. Does he live in a 250x1 yard/meter house? Hot water heater on one side and shower on the other?
I would argue it heats faster because it runs slower through the coils
