Just regular canola oil but I usually use peanut oil but it's gotten really expensive lately.

Looks delish 😍. I’ve been making pan fried chicken cutlets lately and just tried peanut oil so I was curious.

Great recipe. I’ve used variations of that recipe from Serious Eats a few times and it always comes out amazing.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

It’s fried in buttermilk.

these types of pictures should have a nsfw tag. Damn I can't let my wife see me eyeballing these!

I tried to do a copy cat Chick-fil-A sandwich the other day, and the recipe I followed had me brine the chicken in pickle juice. 🤌

Do you still remember where you found the copycat recipe? I'm slowly developing a recipe and would be curious as to whether it was any good as well.

Every time I see buttermilk fried chicken, the old song pops in my head. "Err body wants a piece of my chicken, butter fried chicken, finger lickin'!"

[–] Twofacetony@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I haven’t thought about that song for literally years…. And now it has wormed its way back in.
