I’m so horrible at OTB. It feels super weird trying to play it when I’m just used to the top down simple view online. I need to make it to the weekly casual chess night over here to get more practice.

I honestly add a touch of brown sugar and I guess I’ve been doing it wrong according to these comments.

I heard he was too busy watching television news coverage to be bothered with all that.

Sorry for your troubles. It seems like having an intimate relationship with a partner should probably be lower on your list. Hope you’re able to work towards a positive direction with your life in general…

When I took acid as a teenager in the 90s, I was tripping balls and realized that entertainment or anything that occupies that mind that we enjoy, in essence makes time seemingly go by faster. Therefor, the more you entertain your brain, the quicker you approach your demise. It really groundbreaking for me at the time. I swore I might just stare at a clock for the rest of my days just to make time seemingly like it passes slower to savor my mortality lol

Oh wow thanks for the extensive list! I’ve seen about half of the ones in your list and will check out the link. I also recently watched The Witch by Eggers. That was a creepy good one.

Good idea! Cross posted!

Ohhhh good one. I remember always liking this one back when it came out and I did a rewatch a few years ago. Still held up!

I watched Possession(1981) for the first time last night and holy heck was that a mindf*ck of a trip. I had heard great things about it and how it had a cult following but I went in blind otherwise. Loved almost everything about it, very surreal and the film itself contorts to things I can’t even describe by the end - solid 8/10

I also viewed Jacob’s Ladder(1990) last week and that was a wild ride as well!

Anyone have any personal favs or recommendations? I’m not a horror fan by default but just trying to watch some gems I’ve missed during the spooky season 🎃

Do you have a favorite opening yet?

So sorry for your loss 😞

Seeing the clown toy come alive and trying to attack that kid absolutely traumatized me.

I’m gonna have to give this another view. It was traumatizing to see as a child and I haven’t revisited it since.

I have a 24 year old mini fridge that’s still alive and kicking. It’s a model that actually also has a freezer compartment.

I’ve been thinking about replacing it - especially since the freezer portion no longer works. But I was also curious how much more energy efficient fridge tech has gotten in the past 20 years? Like would I make up the cost of a new mini fridge pretty quickly based off the less power consumption?

I actually have one of those electricity monitors hooked up to it logging the data and I’m still kinda researching - but thought hey I’ll just ask c/nostupidquestions and maybe someone here might know right off the dome! Thanks in advance

After accidentally sitting on my favorite pair today and destroying them, it got me wondering how many pair of shades I’ve owned in my lifetime.

I’m just gonna go with a round number and say about 50. I only buy cheap sunglasses btw

Venezuelan gangs are taking over apartment complexes or something? I know right wing and conspiracy theorists are buzzing about it like crazy today.

I have an acquaintance that is having their life ended next month due to constant medical suffering and just had this morbid thought. Care Now could have a spinoff business called Death Now.

I am getting tired of Topo Chico’s antics. What are your alternatives that you enjoy?

A very new obsession for me. Been trying to make the perfect smashburger in my cast iron.

Nothing fancy. Store bought buns and frozen fries cooked in the air fryer. I hope to step up my game!

This just happened to me and I am a little shook. Very weird. I was talking to my friend in NYC and randomly this voice came on the line saying “this call is being recorded”

He heard it as well. We both have iPhones and were just talking over the PSTN. Wtf
