DO NOT take the full bag out of the box. You will regret it immediatly.

[–] oce@jlai.lu 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

You just have to eat enough for it to slide back in easily again.

But then it's just an empty bag.

Or maybe I just can't control myself.

For some reason this is weirdly relatable even though I can't imagine a single scenario where I would have had to take the bag out of the cereal box

Just stuff the bag back in and then gently shake the box and it will go back to normal

Are pancake mix even that useful, btw? Aren't pancakes the example of something quick and easy?

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Depends on how easy you need. There are pancake mixes that only require some water.

This is a "simple" non-buttermilk recipe

2 cups all purpose | plain flour, (290 g | 10 oz)
1/4 cup granulated sugar or sweetener, (60g | 2 oz)
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups milk, (440ml)
1/4 cup butter, (60g | 2 oz)
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 large egg

Or keep it simple instead: 1 egg 100g flour Add milk while stirring until nice viscosity is achieved

And off to the pan you go, add a drop of oil between each pour when not using non-stick pan.

I never add anything else like sugar or butter to the mix. I don't eat pancakes "pure", I add jams, honey or syrup afterwards. It's a simple base food like plain bread.

Is measuring out 2 items easier than measuring out 10?

It's useful, but not as good as scratch-made... especially the "just add water" varieties. But quick.

I've only ever seen pancake mix in either a re-sealable bag, or just a box; never a bag in a box.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago

Bag in box is most common configuration in US.

[–] Shardikprime@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Literally became big chungus

[–] UnrepententProcrastinator@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 months ago

Put it back with the box popping out. Shake it side to side until the box pops back in.

[–] JoShmoe@lemmy.zip 5 points 10 months ago

Then you had run advanced physics calculations just to put back inside the box.

I don't even know what this meme is trying to say

[–] Auk@kbin.social 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

If you take the bag right out of the box it tends to be difficult to put back into the box, having seemingly become larger like the rabbit in the OP picture.

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Why are you taking the bag out though?

[–] Auk@kbin.social 5 points 10 months ago

Curiosity I guess, it's not like I've done it often.

[–] oce@jlai.lu 2 points 10 months ago

To let the bunny out of the box.
