I had finally transitioned fully away from Google's shit and then you guys start bitching that Proton is evil.

I hate this site

[–] DiabolicalBird@lemmy.ca 23 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'm in the same boat, I'm not migrating again unless shit really goes downhill.

Lemmy gives the vibe of "it's all or nothing, be ready to change at a moment's notice if something iffy gets said"

[–] AnonomousWolf@lemm.ee 7 points 1 week ago

Nothing is perfect, every step in the right direction should be celebrated.

Well done!!

Wait is we hate ?Proton VPN now

[–] Sammy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 34 points 1 week ago (7 children)

Yeah the CEO praised Trump's business acumen specifically while "remaining neutral". This has led people to believe their policies aren't as waterproof as they claim.

[–] JustEnoughDucks@feddit.nl 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They also doubled down on it with the official proton accounts and left privavy-focused social media in favor of corporate censored social media, specifically.

Trump is good is the official position of the company now since they doubled down.

It really really calls into question if they are lying about their company's values and it is just marketing. People seem to give them extra leeway because they are swiss and the whole "neutrality" BS, but nestle is one of the worst companies in the entire world and they are swiss 😅

[–] Orygin@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Swiss neutrality is a joke.
Neutral in that they will follow whoever's putting money in their pockets.
They helped immensely Nazi Germany during WWII, stalled shipment of military gear to Ukraine, shelter Russian money; and will probably follow whatever fascist gov the US will have in a few years.
For tech, Switzerland would be the last country I'd trust after CryptoAG and co.

Neutrality for them is a marketing term.

For those who are too young to know, this dude tried running for NY Governor. He had the best debates I have ever seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79KzZ0YqLvo

His name is Jimmy McMillan and he's the leader of the Rent is Too Damn High party. Interestingly enough, Mr. McMillan has not paid rent for 45 years. That said, he's maintained that it is how high his disabled children's rent is as why he's chosen to make himself a political platform. For a vet with disabled children he's pretty active.

So they’re either particles or waves right?

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

They're each made of three little "things" connected to each other that each have three potential properties that go in two different "directions" giving them very complicated behavior with each other, and if you try to pry the little things apart to see what they're made of, more little things pop into existence so you can never isolate them. And yes, every subatomic particle has wave and particle-like properties but it's not correct to say they're either one or the other, or that they're both. They're not even locally real and don't really exist in one place.

This message has been brought to you by Reality™, it's fucking weird.

[–] Coldcell@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago

Por que no los dos?

[–] i_love_FFT@jlai.lu 8 points 1 week ago
