I know I'm not supposed to use the R word as it's derogatory but for fucks sake, it's literally the only word that describes this

*Edit: spelling

[–] CommissarVulpin@lemmy.world 13 points 48 minutes ago

Republican?

[–] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 14 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

"Mexican"

¡ES ESPAÑOL, MAMAGUEVO!

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 9 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Completely glancing over the fact that there is exactly zero Mexican items at Taco Bell. Everything there is some kinda bastardized American Midwest slop. I think the only actual Spanish on the memo is "gordita" which loosely translates into fat bitch, which seems fitting.

[–] NONE_dc@lemmy.world 10 points 59 minutes ago (1 children)

Ehhh... "gordita" does not translate to "Fat Bitch" but "Little Faty"...

[–] Cornelius_Wangenheim@lemmy.world 1 points 1 minute ago

And real gorditas are nothing like the taco bell version. They're more like an arepa or really thick tortilla split down the middle and stuffed with meat.

At this point, I'm not completely sure that this administration has really only appointed the most qualified people for those cabinet positions.

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 14 points 2 hours ago

Kakistocracy is the word

In " Mexican "...

[–] Comtief@lemm.ee 14 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

considering that english already has a bunch of loan words from spanish that are considered "english", they same should probably apply to taco bell menu.. So are they really "spanish" words in that sense?

[–] Manalith@midwest.social 10 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Didn't you hear him, they're not Spanish words at all, they're MEXICAN words

/s obviously, screw this guy

[–] Mister_Feeny@fedia.io 60 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I don't speak Spanish, but based on the absolutely tiny bit I do know, would this mean quesadillas would become "little cheesies"?

[–] bane_killgrind@slrpnk.net 36 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Two spicy little donkeys with everything, three light meals for the boys, and a little cheesy for my wife, please.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 16 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

little donkeys = burritos

cheesy = quesadilla

light meal? Livianos?

[–] bane_killgrind@slrpnk.net 3 points 58 minutes ago

Taco apparently is a light meal? I don't speak Spanish, I'm just laughing how unhinged it would sound

[–] bane_killgrind@slrpnk.net 17 points 5 hours ago

Cancel that cheesy, she wants a little sash

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 42 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

They’d deport the Taco Bell dog if it was still alive.

You laugh but the Quebec government attempted to fine an Italian restaurant for having the names of their dishes in Italian, many of which have no French name.

[–] Embargo@lemm.ee 40 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

The U.S. government announces that four more words will no longer be permitted for use within scientific documents: Taco, Burrito, Quesadilla and Fajita.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 51 points 10 hours ago (10 children)

What the fuck is "taco" in English?

Verde sauce? Not in my country. That’s green sauce!

[–] weremacaque@lemmy.world 39 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (2 children)

Probably something like a “ground beef, cheese, tomato and lettuce flatbread sandwich with a drizzle of tomato based sauce.” Which is folded like a taco and looks exactly like a taco, but is definitely not a taco.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago

"Tortitious sandwich with beef"
