Using her real name and then reporting the results as “they thought Judge Judy was a SCOTUS justice” seems disingenuous. It’s not like the option that they chose said “Judge Judy”. I wouldn’t even have known that Judith Sheindlin is her real name and not just a generic old lady name.

I would wager the majority of American college grads can’t name all 9 SCOTUS justices (or even all 4 women), and if you’re just guessing then any choice that isn’t obviously wrong (like “Judge Judy”) has around the same chance of being chosen as any other not obviously wrong option.

Chronic pain gang, rise up 💪 (or remain seated)

IIRC there is a brief depiction of a (possibly human rather than mouse? It’s been a while since I read it) woman whose body is in a tub after committing suicide, which is what I’ve read other groups trying to get it banned object to. Because titty.

I feel like the cursed inverse of this is The Orville, where they’re divorced and then drama and jokes about being divorced is half the show. It was in what I saw of season 1 anyway, it was so relentless I couldn’t stand another minute of it.

Do you wear cotton (or another natural fiber) socks? Polyester tends to make smells linger a lot more because it doesn’t wick moisture properly.

Chrono Cross, despite being a 3D game made in the late 90s, has also aged pretty well if you want to give it a play too. If the game style doesn’t look to your liking the soundtrack is still great.

It was an internet comment, not a thesis.

I'm an atheist and that's why I specified the edgy part.

They (hopefully) outgrow the edgy part, though, was my point.

I’m hoping that it’s just the gen z/alpha version of an edgy atheist phase that they outgrow. For what it’s worth she also says a lot of kids are way more chill about LGBT students, including being respectful of pronouns.

I have an in-law that’s a teacher, and she says it’s fucking crazy how radicalized some kids are. Her coworkers have dealt with 11 year old boys straight up telling female teachers they don’t have to listen to them because they’re women.

They’re apparently always talking about shithead influencers like Andrew Tate too, and the ones that aren’t down the pipeline are definitely still heavily exposed to the ideas. Real disturbing shit.

TIL click beetle is a real group of beetles and not just something we called them where I grew up.

It has always amused me that the tourists to the US that I’ve spoken to are often very excited to see raccoons, and disappointed if they don’t see them before they leave.

Some others I’ve noticed on the east coast of the US are blue jays and cardinals. Boy, do people get excited about those if they’ve never seen them before! Very pretty birds of course, just very easy to get used to and see as uninteresting as well.

I saved it from a cropped image of an old zine and forgot to make note of where I got it 😭 Reverse image search isn’t helping me

We fired the art department and replaced them with an orb. It hovers about four feet off the ground and follows us around the office. Sometimes it feels like it's waiting for something. Sometimes it follows you home. Jim says it told him to dig into the dirt. It will save the company twelve dollars.

This is on the most recent iPhone version and the most recent Voyager version. My text size is set as large as possible without the accessibility sizes being on (honestly I would go larger, but accessibility sizes are a bit too big). Making the text this big makes the button to select photos pushed off to the left, and the three dots button is pushed off to the right. They will let me interact with them if I tap as far to the left/right as possible, but I didn't realize I was missing UI elements until someone mentioned it.

Sorry if this has already been reported, I tried searching the github issues but I'm not sure I know the right keywords to use. Thanks for all the work you do on this app! 🙏

You might expect the whirring blades of a helicopter to spark concern or annoyance from animals in the vicinity. But for the reptilian residents of a crocodile farm, a low-flying chopper seemed to signal mating season.

"All of the big males got up and roared and bellowed up at the sky, and then after the helicopters left they mated like mad," John Lever, owner of the Koorana Crocodile Farm in Queensland, Australia, told ABC.
