Is being freeze dried less bad than being encased in ice?

[–] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago

But is it colder than ice cold?

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 45 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's only -24C, but it FEELS like a physically impossible cold. I'm practically a Bose-Einstein condensate here! Brr!!

That’ll straight shrivel up a Johnson so bad it’ll leave the nuts behind.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 29 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Roughly 100 below absolute zero, not sure what happens in that case

[–] grey_maniac@lemmy.ca 26 points 2 months ago

Quantum superconductivity. People in Winnipeg start to leap around randomly in time.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 months ago

Antiheat…. The wind has dropped Winnipeg into an antimatter universe!

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago

Wind chill can make it feel like it's colder than absolute zero.

[–] Haxle@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago

We've had worse.

[–] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 15 points 2 months ago

Been to Winnipeg. That Windchill is pretty much correct if you're hanging around Portage and Main.

[–] Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 months ago

[–] firegem@lemm.ee 11 points 2 months ago

No, it's actually below absolute zero over there!

[–] ImplyingImplications@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 months ago

On one hand, it's not physically possible to be that cold. On the other hand, it's Winnipeg. Could go either way.

[–] HowAbt2morrow@futurology.today 8 points 2 months ago

Oh no it doesn’t

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago

Yesterday walked to the bakery 2 blocks away and my face felt like it was on fire. The scones were amazing though.
