Do I go back as I am now or do I go back as a teenager? If I do age regress do I retain my memories?
Man, I could do so much with that. It’s fun to think about. The whole future becomes a different place if you have those memories.

I am not at all where I hoped I’d be, but I’m exactly where I want to be. Any small change could destroy that.

Well, not the time travel part, but the rest of it yeah. Or…the part of it that isn’t fiction where I think about changes I could make.
I ended up in a relationship with my childhood best friend. It fell apart. She died 3 years later from cancer. Our kid has been through the wringer.

Depends. Do I go as myself? Do I become a kid/teen again? Does the entire world reverse or am I the only time traveller?
Different answers for all scenarios.
Go back to when the world was slightly less shitty while I am fully aware of how much worse its gonna get.
If it's like literally Jan 1 2000 you could go take out Roger Stone and pals. Stop the fake outrage about the election recount. Gore wins Florida. Lots of bad shit the Neocons kicked off never happens.
Alternate history is messy. Look at all the speculative stories of how time travelers going back to get Hitler end up making a worse future for various reasons. Hitler is likely to have protection by the time police from time traveling "heroes" because so many think this is an easy fix.
If I could bring back a few books worth of printed paper (in sleeves to keep them safe with a ton of different notes and a bunch of code written down, you bet I'd go back so that way I could alter the history of the internet.
