I used it a lot years ago, I can confirm it's extremely easy, both using it an customizing it, I haven't seen another editor making it so straightforward and easy to setup your own color coding for example (I used that a lot for dokuwiki pages), but I thought that project was abandoned at some point so I switched to codium.

I see by your post that it's still being actively developed, I'll give it another shot, thanks for sharing.

Happy to hear companies are finally getting it.

That's the reason why I switched to iPhone after many years of Android, security updates are vital nowadays with all the sensitive data and apps we use on our phones, Apple is the only one that guarantees al least 5 years, iPhones are not too expensive if you don't buy the latest models and I'd rather avoid supporting companies that don't understand the importance of security.

Lemmy.world is not upgrading to 0.18 because they removed captcha, admins are waiting for 0.18.1 in which captcha is being re-implemented, it's discussed here: https://lemmy.world/post/469761

Valid concerns IMO, I was shocked to see how advanced those GPT bots are.

I was on a discord chat and there were 4-5 of them chatting with people there, at some point they started arguing with each other, if they weren't clearly marked as bots I probably wouldn't be able to recognize them.

Hilarious on one side, scary on the other side, I can't imagine how much damage they could do in malicious hands.

Why are there so many servers letting u see the same content?

For the same reason there are different subreddits talking about the same things, freedom of choice.

It’s like having multiple Apollo sites that lets u access the “fediverse”

You do, there are different apps with different names that let you access reddit, the fact you chose Apollo doesn't mean everyone else did.

Why can’t we all agree on one server to access the whole thing.

Because that would totally defeat the purpose of the fediverse, that is, having many decentralized instances so that if a few die the fediverse itself can go on living regardless.

It's also to avoid corporate control, if everything was a on single server it would be way too easy for a company to get hold of it, like it is now it's extremely difficult.

Because if you don't you risk burnout?

They offer software updates for >6 years

That was the reason why I migrated to iPhone last year.

I used Android for many years, but I got tired of vendors stopping system updates after 6 months or so of a model being out.

I keep my phone at least 4-5 years, even more if it doesn't break, and with all the sensitive data and apps we keep on it nowadays (mobile banking, digital identities, authenticators, etc.) it's not acceptable to stay years without security fixes.

It's true that apple devices are expensive but it's enough to not buy the latest models, get a bit older one and you can get it for the same price as a medium-high Android.

It's not a rat, it's a Lemming.

Reddit is a play on words "I read it -> on reddit"

I noticed the same, probably because reddit has become really bad in the last years but I didn't realize it until I joined here a couple of weeks ago.

It's indeed refreshing being able to have honest discussions on a platform that's not infested by bots, propaganda, disguised ads, mass shitposting, hidden agendas, etc.

If lemmy becomes wildly popular to the masses, it's possible things will change for the worse, who knows, but I'll enjoy it a lot in the meantime.
