I feel like doing really great adaptations like he has is a really rare skill in his line of work. Dune was considered to be unfilmable even David Lynch failed to do it. But he did it extremely well

I’m not a Texas fan or defender by any means, but I do know Texans, and the state telling them to not do something will make them do it more out of spite

I for one would love for Linus, probably Woz, and a third party yet to be decided(this would be Aaron Schwartz in a better world) to be given free reign to gut the whole industry and rebuild it into something isn’t wholly based on ad revenue and grift

Edit: a bunch of good suggestions of people I need to read about for position three. If anyone can think of a digital equivalent to Marshall McLuhan I think we desperately needs input of that sort

I voted for Bernie and he would have been great, I always find myself thinking about Gore winning more often. I have more respect for Bernie for sure but we’d have been in such a better place by 2016. Jesus, there’s a non-zero chance that the 9/11 warnings don’t get ignored and the US definitely doesn’t invade Iraq or Afghanistan. The housing bubble would probably still have burst in a bad way but I doubt it goes down the same way. Supreme Court wouldn’t be as full of neocons and zealots.

In one of Dave’s early Netflix specials he talks about Bill Cosby and how complicated his crimes were for a black standup who was both inspired and influenced by Cosby as regardless of how shitty he is as a person is a giant of that medium. I sort of feel that way about Dave now, his show and early standup sets were so fundamental to how my sense of humor formed that I can’t completely divorce myself from them, but who he’s become is shameful and i can’t ride with him anymore.

Like fuck him for being so shitty and bigoted in general, but an extra fuck him for letting down the people he inspired and influenced. He’s become the very thing he should have destroyed

Honestly after the Cyberpunk debacle I can easily see why, the decisions that led to that were almost certainly made by marketing and C-Suite and not the devs. Someone correct me if that’s wrong. If they actually learn from those mistakes I have no doubt they’ll reclaim the rep they had after the Witcher 3

This, Conan has always been infinitely funnier, and he still has employees that followed him from the Late Night show that seem to love working with him
