Because surely more feckless corpodem bullshit will get us through this…

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 229 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Stephen Miller is a fascist piece of shit. Grow a fucking spine ABC.

[–] b3an@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

He’s also a whiny little bitch. With a thin fucking skin, and a lack of morals.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 32 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Or grow some eyes.

One should be enough.

[–] LilB0kChoy@midwest.social 24 points 1 day ago

I thought CBS was the one eye network.

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 20 points 2 days ago

That's an insult to shit.

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 80 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ah, so ABC news admits to being a propaganda wing of the regime.

Great. Well at least there aren't any questions about it.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago (1 children)

All of the legacy media has a bias toward the right. ALL of them. The only time I've heard them be objective is when they all asserted, repeatedly, that The Big Lie was in fact a falsehood. And that was because THEY were accused of negligence.

Outside of that, they're always showing the left at their worst and allowing the right to pitch their radicalism. They need the left to be sensationalist and the right has to be sane washed because reality is so extreme that people assume the news is sensationalizing them.

So they fall back on "both sides" yet again.

Private media panders to the source of its revenue, which is private industry.

Silicon Valley is tilted hard right. Wall Street is hard right. US Heavy industry is hard right. Consumer manufacturing/shipping is economically right wing, even when its occasionally got social liberal pastiche.

Trump's made himself the singular conduit through which private industry lands the trillions in public spending. So private industry bows to him.

If we were in a country with a heavily socialist economic system, the game would be different. Cubans aren't getting an earful about how cool Steven Miller is. Nicaraguan bureaucrats have no need to appease Elon's DOGE teams. Nobody in South Africa is producing hagiographies for Pete Hegseth.

This is how Fox News "reporters" talk about Democrats ON AIR (and in much more derogatory and dishonest ways) and ABC fires him for a personal tweet.

Spineless weak puppets.

[–] ReallyActuallyFrankenstein@lemmynsfw.com 128 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

The tweet read:

...

Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He’s a world-class hater.

You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate.

I'm having some trouble here, what's the controversial statement?

ABC is cowardly. They settled HitlerPig's lawsuit against Stephanopoulos, giving him $15 million to end a lawsuit he would have lost, but was a $15 million bribe to leave them alone. Now Moran, an excellent reporter, is fired for a mild insult against PeeWee Himmler. I'm sure Disney acted because PeeWee called and demanded it.

I just wrote a post saying that PeeWee Himmler jerks off to photos of Nazi death camps. I guess I can expect a call

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 57 points 1 day ago

You're not allowed to speak truth on these channels.

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br -1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

You can see this just by looking at him

Don't think this specifically, but I always find sus when someone uses appearance to attack someone.

[–] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 3 points 1 day ago

Great point tbh

[–] ReallyActuallyFrankenstein@lemmynsfw.com 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I took it more as implying his reaction is to relish hatred, not his physical appearance per se.

The guy is shown repeatedly on video reveling in the pain and suffering he causes. Laughing at the liberals who reveal their weakness by showing empathy, leaning into and enjoying his bad-guy persona.

That's what I thought he meant.

[–] die444die@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I just cancelled my Disney+/hulu/ESPN+ account over this.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Rollsafe.jpg

I never signed up to begin with.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 135 points 2 days ago

This is such a cowardly move by ABC.

[–] teamevil@lemmy.world 85 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hey...Stephen Miller is a world class fucking Nazi

Careful, ABC might not renew your contract with that kind of language.

[–] wanderwisley@lemm.ee 62 points 1 day ago (2 children)

1943: punch a nazi in the face and get a metal. 2025: call a nazi a nazi online and lose your job.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

1943

Never ask a man his wage.

Never ask a woman her age.

Never ask Allen Dulles what Operation Sunrise was doing for Karl Wolff in 1945.

[–] Fenrir@lemmings.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I mean, it's also a metal ^thing^

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 92 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Boycott ABC, and any corporation bending the knee to our current Felon-In-Chief.

[–] Xanthobilly@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I’m running out of things I don’t boycott. My read? Fascism is winning.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 14 points 1 day ago

Don't stress yourself out! Disengage and ignore it all for a bit. Come back refreshed because we need you! They want 2 things: to control us, and for us to feel like it's hopeless... It's not. There's more of us and we will win. But in the meantime, please take care of yourself...

[–] turdburglar@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

plant a garden. grow some food. as boycotts go, it’s not much but it’s something and it tastes way better than what you can buy.

probably less likely to poison you too as health and safety standards are gutted and no longer enforced

Boycott ABC?
It's as easy as 1-2-3!

[–] jontree255@lemmy.world 63 points 2 days ago

Stephen Miller is a fascist piece of shit. Keep saying it because it’s the fucking truth.

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 59 points 2 days ago

Terry isn't wrong.

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 41 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why delete it? Its so mild compared to many other tweets.

[–] limer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 day ago

But compared to the abc strategy, its bold

[–] gaja@lemm.ee 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

It cost him his job.

Edit: Maybe even his career

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Anchors make bank. Can probably retire.

*He's 65. Should retire.

[–] gaja@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

Didn't realize they made that much.

This article claims fox anchors make as little as $1 million up to $45 million.

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Thats rough but also who wants to keep working at a place where you are not free to state in opinion that Trump and Company are bad guys.

Also if their are fired anyway, may aswell leave it up.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 33 points 1 day ago

Imagine getting fired as a journalist for simply stating an objective fact.

[–] malloc@lemmy.world 35 points 1 day ago

Smells like corporate meddling.

Reminds me of the 60 Minutes and CBS controversy. In the mid-90s, producers worked on a segment to expose big tobacco knew about the dangers of nicotine yet sold products anyways.

Big tobacco laid down the pressure on 60 Minutes and CBS network. 60 Minutes was huge back then and had high levels of journalistic integrity. Ultimately, CBS executives killed/delayed/manipulated/watered down the big tobacco story. CBS was at the time was apparently in merger with Westinghouse and executives were pissing their pants the big tobacco lawsuit could kill that M&A.

ABC is owned by Walt Disney now. I think they have a few acquisitions lined up that they need green lit by Orange man administration. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is the case here.

Fire Moran to appease Orange man.

Honestly need to break up the big corporations.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 16 points 1 day ago

Let's translate this...ABC found a way to fire someone who would otherwise retire and take some monthly allowance from ABC.

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hey ABC,I hear you like em young.

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 15 points 2 days ago

I would hope he can easily find a new job elsewhere.
