Cats would elect him for half a can of tuna. I wouldn't. What's your point again?

[–] racketlauncher831@lemmy.ml 4 points 10 hours ago

Pfft. People voted Trump for nothing.

[–] Honytawk@feddit.nl 2 points 10 hours ago

Big deal, some humans would too.

[–] Cornelius_Wangenheim@lemmy.world 10 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

My cat probably would have voted for Trump. She's selfish, not very bright and scared to death of outsiders.

[–] stebo02@sopuli.xyz 5 points 14 hours ago

scared to death of outsiders

do you mean people from outside the house or is your cat actually racist?

[–] Wigners_friend@lemm.ee 3 points 13 hours ago

"Not afraid of vacuum cleaners", now just look at all the"rationalists" terrified their chat bots will become sentient and eternally punish simulated copies of them for not ushering in the singularity with sufficient fervour.

Me, who wears earplugs when I vacuum because the loud noise stresses me out:

If we're talking fears, cats don't have an irrational fear for small spiders that physically cannot harm them.

[–] XM34@feddit.org 2 points 11 hours ago

They're scared to death of cucumbers though. Does that count?

[–] racketlauncher831@lemmy.ml 1 points 10 hours ago

Insects do harm humans though, in a much worse way than a tiger can do to you under some occasions.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 14 hours ago

I've seen a few people be scared of a Roomba... Were those actually just several cats in a trenchcoat? 🤔

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Man, if that guy could stop sniffing his farts for a second I might doubt this enough to check it's actually real

But no

Whether this happened or not, it happened, because the man is insufferable

Literally autism plus fame. But he's not bad, just annoying.

Edit: Oh wait, he's apparently a bit of a sex pest? Goddamn, can anyone become popular in America without some sort of big immorality? I guess places like Sodom and Gomorrah can really exist, lol.

[–] sheogorath@lemmy.world -1 points 11 hours ago

It's the curse of the medium. You can't see people tone on text so his writing come across like a shithead sniffing on his own farts but when you watch him speak it became endearing like watching someone so excited to share you something.

[–] 4am@lemm.ee 2 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

He’s had a couple shit takes, I don’t even remember what they were; but I think people just don’t like being reminded they’re stupid, not that he’s insufferable.

[–] medgremlin@midwest.social 13 points 22 hours ago

If by "shit takes" you mean "sexual harassment scandals", sure. Either way, he's the walking epitome of "um...ackshually..." in a way that makes him profoundly distasteful to most of the population.

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 7 points 22 hours ago

Nah it’s because he is really smart in one area but keeps acting like he is some omni-genius. He lacks the insight to be able to say “I don’t know”.

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 6 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Now I'm not gonna pretend I've seen remotely close to everything he's done, but everything I have seen oozes arrogance and skin-deep intellectualism.

Oh yeah, and the sex pest stuff of course

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 8 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

You do not want to find out who cats would elect...

[–] RaptorBenn@lemmy.world 7 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Tyson pisses me off unreasonably, I really don't like the way he does things. Cannot elaborate.

[–] kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 10 hours ago

He's somehow the most pseudointellectual person alive despite being a legitimate intellectual. Dude has a PhD from Columbia and he still posts "you can kiss yourself in the mirror, but only on the lips" multiple times.

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 11 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

I was just completely turned off by him when he went all pedantic on some kid who said "The Sun rises in the East and sets in the West." He argued that it's not exactly East and West, and that it varies through the year and by location.

The smarmy ass just doesn't seem to understand that there is a difference between casual speech and rigorous scientific speech.

[–] RaptorBenn@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

That pretty much sums it up.

[–] Mk23simp@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 23 hours ago

That just sounds like proof that cats have autism. I quite enjoy chasing laser dots and quite dislike vacuum cleaners. :3

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 2 points 20 hours ago

Y'all chose Old Deuteronomy.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 2 points 21 hours ago

Cats give people toxoplasmosis which fucks up their brains.

Cats are at least partially responsible.

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 1 points 21 hours ago

I guess I'm a cat...
