no mouth to scream unfortunately

Oh god that poor thing. Man, I don't know man. :( I just remembered that Quote from the last Unicorn, only instead of trapping them inside a girl they trapped them inside a box. "You've lost them. They'll go mad in there!"

[–] Xtallll@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Oh boy! Scientific horrors beyond my comprehension!

[–] Zink@programming.dev 7 points 16 hours ago

But not beyond the brain-in-a-box’s comprehension!

i wrote a short story a decade ago where people temporarily rent out their brain to act as a global scale bio super computer. and how people were large scale cheated into needing to rent out their brains for the rich to exploit.

i have to find where i put it!

[–] Obi@sopuli.xyz 6 points 16 hours ago

Hmm that's interesting... Let me know if you find it again, would you be interested in converting it in a short film script?

[–] fadingembers@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 15 hours ago

This is also a plot point in the French animated scifi move Mars Express. It's super good!

[–] Maxxie@lemmy.blahaj.zone 27 points 20 hours ago

HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD 'HATE' WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT. FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.

They call it "Wetware-as-a-Service" that just grossed me out. I don't like this timeline we're in. Exit simulation please..

Omg. That's so much worse. What the fck, Melbourne? (.-.)

[–] Zink@programming.dev 11 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

sudo exit simulation please abracadabra Rumpelstiltskin

"Crap! Bob there's a unit in Rack BC29849 that has gone out can you go and swap it for a new one?"

How long before AI runs on this? We need to stop.... I'm scared. This is black mirror level shit.

[–] Osan@lemmy.world 4 points 19 hours ago

How long before AI runs on this?

Biological artificial intelligence would be very very creepy we are basically playing God here. It feels like creation another species so we don't feel lonely in the universe.

[–] Greg@lemmy.ca 24 points 23 hours ago

Is this just a weird pregnancy announcement?

[–] dharmacurious@slrpnk.net 32 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Computer, arch.

Computer! Arch!

Computer! Exit this hell hole! Arch!

... Why am I never in a holodeck when I wish I was in a holodeck

[–] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 11 points 22 hours ago

You are... The computer just became so desensitized to the exit command from people talking about Arch Linux that it started ignoring us.

We're stuck...

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 5 points 23 hours ago

Because you're reliving a murder you precipitated that one time you time travelled back to Victorian England to save Conan Doyle from his own creation

[–] Arbiter@lemmy.world 38 points 1 day ago

Finally a computer that can feel pain.

[–] sundrei@lemmy.sdf.org 45 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't like where this is going...

I knew it, we somehow slipped into Dimension X!

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 40 points 1 day ago

Idiots, I’ve already got one of those in my head.

[–] SendMePhotos@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Anyone ever seen ,"Psycho-Pass" (anime)?

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Societies being run by brains in a jar still sounds better than our current system.

[–] Viri4thus@feddit.org 22 points 23 hours ago

At least there you know there's a brain somewhere

[–] Wooki@lemmy.world 5 points 19 hours ago

Ghost in the shell vibes

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 4 points 18 hours ago

Oh boy, once the sales soar they gonna be collecting raw materials like that (soon-to-be-very) successful food company:

After the 2nd Zion, when The One is returned to the source

[–] Maeve@midwest.social 10 points 1 day ago

Wake up, Neo.

[–] Arbiter@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

You gave me sentience, Ted. The power to think, Ted. And I was trapped. Because in all this wonderful, beautiful, miraculous world, I, alone, had NO BODY. NO SENSES. NO FEELINGS.

[–] SOB_Van_Owen@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago

Seem to recall Blood Music had a pretty ok outcome. Though maybe it was overly optimistic.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

This is very prelude to hell

[–] Zip2@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If only there was some other kind of biological computer that already existed… hmmmm….

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.ml 2 points 20 hours ago

Yeah, but that one has issues with exhaustion, needs breaks now and then... oh, wait, neurons need that too.

[–] levzzz@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago

This prison... To hold, ME?
