Just so a news article of five women 'hostages' that Hamas had released who were announcing that they all wanted to rejoin the IDF.

I wouldn't post this. It is too embarasing to be forced out from a 10,000,000$ tank by people with no economy and no army.
By guys on sandals.
Well. They would have AP rpg’s and they can easily blow out a track system with no support infantry around for the tank. Also H/E rounds for blowing people out of the tanks. Thermite devices also. Melt steel beams.
Just because they are in those beast of a tank. Doesn’t mean they can’t get knocked out.
I like how he's apparently a hostage and not a POW.
I like how Hamas doesn't follow the Geneva Convention on the treatment of POWs. Maybe you should read up a little bit about what international law says about using POWs for propaganda purposes.
Yet another Hamas war crime you can make funny internet memes about I suppose.
You are right to condemn Hamas war crimes.
Are you condemning Israeli war crimes with equal vehemence?
In fact, given the ridiculous power imbalance and the disproportionate power and scale, I would expect you would be spending almost all of your alloted condemn-war-crimes-time condemning the Israelis. Are you?
I'd like to but tbh it feels pointless to talk about the whole situation at this point. No one really seems interested in anything other than either Hamas bad or Israel bad. I know a long time ago I was saying that Israel could probably help people support their side more by ensuring that civilians remain unharmed as much as they possibly can. They have since gone in the opposite direction.
Or Israel could stop colonizing a people that doesn't want to be colonized. The West won't force them, because loves seeing Israel being a nuissance to the Mid East, and the Israelis themselves are degenerate. So let's not point the finger at the Pals when they lash out back at the Israelis.
Well, yes that as well. I was talking about a long time ago though when it could more reasonably be seen as Hamas being the aggressor.
We saw how the state of Israel treats detained civilians. Not even fucking soldiers, but civilians.
So yeah, we get to joke how ineptly this soldier was trained.
Israel blew up children's hospitals. We can do this all day buddy.
You see human suffering as an opportunity to make internet memes. I know you can do this all day because you don't actually care about the suffering of people.
I knew you were a neo liberal POS when you responded to my post but now i see you're even worse, you're a zionist apologist 🤢
Hamas treats their captives pretty wel according to their released captives.
Rape denial, huh? Is there any line you won't cross to defend these monsters?
I like how zionists ignore the reality thst israel was founded on right wing zionist extremism. For decades the Irgun Hagannah, Palmach and Lehi waged a campaign of terror funded with the money of a certain central banking family whom you cant mention without being called AnTiSeMiTiC. These violent terrorist paramilitary organizations murdered between 6-8000 palestinian jews muslims and christians as well as british occupying infantry before 1948 when the newly formed government of israel condemned them as terrorists while simultaneously granting them pardons and membership into their newly formed military and intelligence apparatus. They were responsible for Countless riots assassinations bombings like the most famous one the bombing of the king david hotel that killed over 100 innocent people. There was NO islamic extremism before the 1960’s it was a response to the original terrorism of zionists. So keep on licking that boot. Maybe you’re getting paid to spread this disinformation otherwise youre just ignorant as all fuck
Hamas doesn’t follow the Geneva Convention on the treatment of POWs
What do you mean?
EDIT: I know you probably are just a genocide defender but in the case you are arguing with good faith then I will say this. The most important part of the law is that it applies to everyone.
Thus, following the Regulations concerning the Laws and Customs of War on Land, when an occupation is already in place (Western Bank and Gaza Strip), the occupying state (Israel) cannot use militarized force in response to an armed attack; it can only use police force to restore order.
Thus, it is unclear how Israel as an occupant can claim the right to self-defense when it has been controlling, policing and making settlements in the OPT since 1967.
So with respect to IHL principles and proportionality, Israel was obligated to refrain from using starvation as a tactic against Gaza’s civilians, minimize harm to civilians and civilian infrastructure, and allow the return of displaced individuals post-conflict. However, in contrast, Israel closed all borders and severed essential services like electricity, water, and food supplies, as well as conducting airstrikes on densely populated areas and vital infrastructure. Israel’s armed forces launched air strikes on residential buildings, including apartments in the Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City; mosques; refugee camps, such as Jabalia Refugee Camp and Nuseirat Refugee Camp); and the UNRWA School in Central Gaza’s al-Maghazi refugee camp.
Israel’s attacks, which caused a humanitarian catastrophe by collectively punishing the entire population of Gaza, failed to meet the standards outlined in the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. The disproportionate use of force, coupled with the dehumanizing rhetoric used against Palestinians and the manipulation of essential resources such as food, stands in violation of the proportionality requirement of the right to self-defense, IHL, and International Human Rights Law (IHRL). The Israeli Defense Minister’s order to deliberately siege food, electricity, and fuel as a wartime strategy violates IHL and constitutes a “war crime” under Article 8(2)(b)(xxv) of the Rome Statute, and could also potentially satisfy the legal criteria for the crime against humanity of inhumane acts (Article 7(1)(k)) of the Rome Statute. A complete siege, especially for an extended duration, is prohibited by IHL under Article 54(1) of the First Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions. This principle is also emphasized in Article 23 of the Fourth Geneva Convention and Article 70 of Additional Protocol I. Furthermore, the extensive damage caused to civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and media outlets, highlights the disproportionate nature of the military operations and violates Article 57 of the Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions.
I would still like to know how exactly you think what you did comment. It is telling that you apply the law to a non-state actor of a non-member observer state of the UN and actively do not apply any law to a full member signatory of the UN and Geneva Conventions, but please go on about the Geneva Conventions.
To play devils advocate with the original comment, if you're pretending it's a police action then he's a hostage
I mean, that's fair.
My local PD also regularly conducts operations with their M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank, a totally normal piece of police equipment to be operating.
Yeah, Hamas stinks. They don't follow international law at all. Their oppressors should have been a better example to them and taught them how a legitimate government behaves.
I don't think anyone here thinks Hamas is strongly committed to international law.
So Hamas gets a free pass for war crimes?
The post is referencing a war crime committed by Hamas. Yet people here are using it as if it's a big gotcha against Israel. Really warped view on things when you witness a war crime being committed and you're so blinded by hatred you just lazily criticize some phrasing around it because you don't even see the war crime any more.
The dehumanization that's being done here is disgusting. This is why the Palestinian movement isn't invited to speak in civil society anymore. Y'all are too warped by hatred.
What exactly is the war crime here?
If a person is operating a tank then they're a legitimate military target. It isn't a war crime to capture or kill a military target. Do you claim that Israel is committing war crimes and kidnapping when they capture enemy combatants? Of course not.
You may have a preferred side, but calling 'war crime' on something doesn't make it true. If you step into a tank and strap a rifle on your body then you are operating under an entirely different set of rules and are subject to be killed or captured by the opposing forces.
But like... How?
