The cybertruck was designed to unify us all against brain-dead nonsense decisions

[–] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 21 points 3 months ago

Car lovers and car haters uniting against a single thing

[–] unmagical@lemmy.ml 14 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I saw one of these parked at my mall. As I was audibly saying "Oh, a Cybertruck" I noticed a second one parked a couple of spots down and continued "huh, there's two of them." It wasn't until I'd finished "what a terrible mistake." that I noticed the owner had paused climbing in to hear my conclusion prior to hanging his poor defeated head and leaving.

I really hope this is a true story.

While I've had a good time mocking the appearance of these, I do appreciate it when companies take risks with fashion, style, and convention. What I really dislike about these is that they're really poorly reviewed by folks that purchased them.

If it was just a problem with style or fashion I would not be shitting on them at all. That's just the most visible thing people have to criticize about it.

I saw one of those stupid motherfuckers driving thru my neighborhood the other day. That was the first time I had seen one in person and I have to say it was the ugliest piece of shit I had ever seen. All I could do was laugh at the dumbass behind the wheel for wasting their money on that monstrosity.

Also, am I the only one who remembers the old flash game from like a decade ago with a "cybertruck" that looks exactly like this that you bounced around the screen to kill enemies? I'm going on a mission to find that shit now.

Indestructotank?

You forgot the rust and broken brake petal

[–] Aeri@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I hate that I can tell but this is a cybertruck in ROBLOX

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Wait, don't tell me those people laughing at it are fake, too. You just can't tell with pictures on the internet these days!

[–] RubberElectrons@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I've got a co-worker who wrapped his in iridescent vinyl... Like it wasn't ostentatious enough 🙄

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

At least it will have gained some rust protection I guess.

[–] dingus@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Now I'm wondering what that looks like. Personally, sometimes I find having something a bit loud is fun!

Can we talk about those butt-ugly jeep trucks? Like holy hell no matter what angle you look at it from its just ugly as all heck and incredibly impractical

[–] ReplicantBatty@lemmy.one 3 points 3 months ago

My wife and I call them Jrucks

[–] Donjuanme@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

What vehicle are you talking about? I think the Jeep design is very practical, did they make a truck body?

[–] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 3 points 3 months ago

I had to google it and its the Jeep gladiator. Its like one of their smaller jeeps with a giant truck bed jutting out the back, and the proportions just look so wrong from every angle

[–] merari42@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

The official name for the driver of a Cybertruck is a cybercuck

[–] JPAKx4@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Is that the car from Fortnite?

[–] consumptionone@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

No, it's the car from Halo.

[–] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 months ago

I'm pretty sure Halos vehicles are better designed and far more practical.

[–] iegod@lemm.ee 2 points 3 months ago

Believe it or not, Rocket League.

[–] drunkpostdisaster@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

I always thought they looked kind of cool. Probably could have been something if Elon was not such a moron.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 3 months ago

There's a mom and pop grocery store that borders my old neighborhood. I drive within two blocks of my old place when I go there. There's one of these stupid trucks parked there for the last few months between my old place and the store. I thank goodness that I no longer live there and don't have to see that ugly thing multiple times per week. What a tool you have to be to own one.

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

I saw one driving to work the other day and honestly they look goofy af.

It's like watching someone drive around in a car rendered with ps1 graphics.
