Alternativ OS for those which can't or won't use Linux

Being naturally light on resources, footprint and size it also comes in as a great fit for low-end systems

Microsoft's Windows operating system is infamous for its privacy-intrusive behaviour towards consumers, which is why ReviOS takes the privacy aspect into serious account

A plethora of telemetry backdoors have been terminated including, but is not limited to: UWP/AppX Apps, Windows Update

Data collection and reporting increase the system load, and as a bonus, that too is severely reduced, hereby promoting performance

A Playbook is a small file that contains a set of system modifications. The changes from this Playbook are applied by the open-source AME Wizard, a tool that can modify a running Windows system. This allows you to convert your current installation to ReviOS, instead of having to delete your system and install fresh.

Just as the ISO in the past, the ReviOS Playbook removes bloatware and unnecessary system components, improves privacy and system performance, all while maintaining compatibility. The full list of changes can be found here.

The Playbook is compatible with Windows 10 versions 21H2 (19044) and 22H2 (19045), and Windows 11 versions 22H2 (22621) and 23H2 (22631). This covers standard Windows 10, 11 and LTSC. It also works on any Windows edition, meaning you can use your existing Windows Key no matter the edition.

Well, ReviOS isn't a own OS as such which substitute the existing Windows, like eg. ReactOS, it's an FOSS tool which convert an existing Windows to something acceptable. It's because of this not so different as posting any other FOSS for Windows, like the hellzerg Optimizer on steroids. There are a lot of projects like this (with Tiny11 being the most known) and people actually use them on older hardware or for hardcore gaming. Security is always a concern though

I really don't get people's resistance when it comes to using Windows 10 Enterprise and reading the fucking manual here and here. Everything those guys to can be accomplished via group policy or a few extra tweaks. Just read the damn thing and apply what you want. Large companies and govt agencies do this and get clean Windows experiences.

Who do you trust more? Unknown entities that may or may not know what they are doing OR proper documentation and manual research into the subject. Just follow the steps and fire up wireshark to confirm.

As a matter of fact, I have interacted with most devs/teams, and have checked out the source code for many of the projects, yes.

And I know all of them.

Just like I am not a fan of Firefox derivatives, I am not a fan of modified ISOs for Windows.

This is because all the effort put on trust on a big company/community is now gone; now you must trust some unknown random dev.

Install official Windows and apply trusted tools to clean it up. Or better yet, install Linux. That's my general advice.

As I said before, ReviOS isn't a OS as such. In Windows I used the Hellzerg Optimizer to gut privacy invading parts, services and nags. Well ReviOS is something similar, but in extremis, leaving Windows with just enough to function as an OS, without unnecessary functions, services and telemetries, with the half of its default size. But independent if you use the ReviOS setup or ISO, you need Windows first, precisely because RevisionOS isn't a OS as such.
