Yeah they kinda look like this: NYPD dump truck

Occasionally they catch on fire: NYPD flaming dumpster

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 16 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Damn. Burn.

edit: lmao even funnier that you edited in a burning one just as I commented

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 16 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

they also look like this:

edit: Oh look. here's some more dumptrucks.

[–] Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Those look more like manure spreaders.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

I wonder what it would cost to pay a guy with a manure spreader to drive out to the mar a lago golf course and spread some on the links?

Allegedly for the counter terrorism unit. Found this:

I wonder why the NYPD owns a dump truck

[–] ptz@dubvee.org 14 points 4 months ago

I don't know why, but I never thought to question that until this very moment.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

probably to do exactly what they did. specifically, to barricade streets from people also diving dumptrucks and whatever other heavy vehicle they might get. Chances are it was requested by the secret service detail.

It's either that or an MRAP, and MRAPS don't exactly convince people they're the Kinder and Friendly New York Police™️

[–] st3ph3n@midwest.social 12 points 4 months ago

Probably just a city truck that the police were using to block the street.

[–] Frog-Brawler@kbin.social 6 points 4 months ago

Probably for this exact purpose. It’s much less intimidating than the military vehicles.

[–] figjam@midwest.social 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

My city uses them as snowplows

[–] rezifon@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Does your city police department plow the roads?

[–] Mostly_Gristle@lemmy.world 45 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yes. The police. That famously liberal group of bleeding heart lefties.

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 14 points 4 months ago

Remember kids: All Cops Are Bastards. ACAB.

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 32 points 4 months ago (1 children)

They did a great job on this one, lol.

[–] Zahille7@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

He looks kinda like the MADtv kid.

[–] carl_dungeon@lemmy.world 31 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Trump should incite a riot, that’d really show everyone!

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago

Hey, I've seen that one before!

[–] taanegl@lemmy.world 26 points 4 months ago

Trump wondered why the police had not paraded down the streets, knocked on people's doors menacingly and told them to report to the Trump victory center for vote verification. After all, he had bought all those leather boots.

[–] Edgecrusher35@lemmy.ml 19 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It kind of feels like he's banking on the police being supporters of his and is attempting to get them to lighten their security around the building. That would allow his protesters to pull another January 6th at the courthouse.

[–] jkrtn@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 months ago

Are they not? I don't know how attacking the courthouse would help the outcome. I guess whatever it takes for another delay.

[–] dyathinkhesaurus@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago (2 children)

'Alternative Facts', should be really easy to disprove, no?

Basically why anyone has been voting Republican since the 90s when Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh took the platform from "mostly bullshit with some outdated ideology mixed in" to "99.9% bullshit by volume".

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

.1% is giving them a lot of credit.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I was rounding up because determining how many 9 decimals is appropriate for accuracy would require too much research and abstract statistics 😉

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Leaning on the 9 key is my go to

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

Unless you have millions of sycophantic fans living in a media bubble...

[–] ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk 9 points 4 months ago

Does he mean the ones in prison...?

[–] recapitated@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago

Just more blathering from the anti-cop soft-on-crime hard right.

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 months ago

I like the guy with the "Trump is a rime boss" banner xD

[–] maculata@aussie.zone 3 points 4 months ago

By ‘thousands’ he means, like, a dozen.

[–] DAMunzy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Wait, I thought he was pro police/law and order?
