I’m not ashamed to admit that I don’t get it.

Nine Inch Nails is a band, and that is their logo

Also the person's comment is lyrics to their most famous song. Except "a manicure" is originally "what you deserve".

I would absolutely not call that his most famous song. That would probably be Closer

[–] GrammatonCleric@lemmy.world 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Head Like a Hole was his first single and the song that got him popular.

Teeeechhhhnically Down in It came out first, but yeah, Head Like a Hole was infinitely more popular.

crazy that a heroin addled white 24 year old goth badly rapping over the sound of a cutlery drawer being rearranged didn't instantly propel him to stardom.

And the caption is a play on lyrics from their song "Head Like A Hole"

"bow down before the one you serve

You're going to get what you deserve"

Nin is a band you need to know

[–] squiblet@kbin.social 3 points 8 months ago

The text is a reference to a Nine Inch Nails song, which also seems to be where the place took their logo from.

I'll buff some nails today. To see if they won't peel.

I focus on the paint. The only thing's that real.

There's no way they're not going to get sued

[–] tsonfeir@lemm.ee 13 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I really hope they don’t, and that Trent goes there for a manicure.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 8 points 8 months ago

And when he walks in he says "god money nail me up against the wall".

Depends on what country it is in. Internationally trademarks are complicated. In many countries there effectively is no enforced trademark law.

The sign next to it looks like it may be in Greek so if it's not Greece it's a country that uses similar lettering in their language.

It's from a small town in Greece.
