The first r/place felt like this, the other editions devolved into what people (streamers and communities that were not regular users of Reddit) called "pixel wars" when it was absolutely NOT the mood of the event

My current phone (late 2022) cost me 700€, I will never spend that much again. It was supposed to replace my main camera for photography while hiking (weight being a huge factor), and it has. I'm hoping it will last as long as possible (10 years would be great), but after that, I'll probably just get a 100€ brick out of privacy concerns

I'd like more smaller scale projects and events to foster a sense of community, canvas is coming up and it will be a good test to see the dedication and activity of communities in the fediverse

Disappointing from Politico, I thought they had a good read on politics but it seems they're incompetent enough to not be able to understand the french political landscape: the far left is mostly composed of NPA and LO who are trying to gain power through revolution, not the classic socdem parties playing by the elections rules

Edit : wow thanks for the context, friends, didn't know they had changed owners

I played Heroes of Hammerwatch which is the multiplayer equivalent of that game, fun with friends but it keeps making me fall asleep

[–] inlandempire@jlai.lu 1 points 1 week ago

Ah shit, didn't think about that, sorry

I believe they should be broadcast by the national public television (France Television) which you can watch live on https://france.tv/ ; that's if you don't mind french lol

They may ask for an account but there's no email check, just type whatever and you can watch it

What happened to Belarus 😨

Oh that's a good tip, thanks!

Whether on the deck or not ; I personally haven't tried any on the deck yet, but I downloaded about 40 demos or so, Tails of Iron 2 and Airborne Empire were good fun, The Alters and Tactical Breach Wizards completely hooked me!

I downloaded about 40 demos, will report back once I played all of them !

Anything from Leader Games and illustrated by Kyle Ferrin (Root, Oath, Fort...) feels like cheating but still, I absolutely adore their art style

Everdell, Photosynthesis, Parks, look nice as well

I also bought an updated edition of Costa Ruana just because of the illustrations: https://www.pamwishbow.com/client-work/project-four-yjynj-pafyx

Lemmy users, you can now vote for your favourite song in Lemmyvision's song contest, an Eurovision-like song contest, in which various instances submitted a song of their choice!

My sincere thanks everyone for their submissions, I have created a form where you can rank your favourite songs, it's available here :

➡️ Lemmyvision Voting Form - https://tally.so/r/nWNgKQ ⬅️

I'll leave the form open for a week and then collect the results!

Make sure to check each submitted song thanks to the playlists @Ategon@programming.dev has created:

Full list of songs:

  • 🇦🇺 Royel Otis - Heading For The Door (aussie.zone / Australia)
  • 🇧🇪 Puggy - Lost Child (!belgique@jlai.lu / Belgium)
  • 🇨🇦 Lu Kala - Hotter Now (lemmy.ca / Canada)
  • 🇩🇰 Pil - Dronning Af Månen (feddit.dk / Denmark)
  • 🇫🇷 Bagarre - ON EST LES MÊMES (jlai.lu / France)
  • 🇭🇺 Azahriah - introvertált dal (!hungary@lemmy.world / Hungary)
  • 🇬🇧 The Northern Boys - Sexy Train (feddit.uk / UK)
  • 🇦🇶 Casette Beasts - Your Inception (programming.dev / Programming)
  • 🇳🇿 Tiki Taana - Tangaroa (lemmy.nz / New Zealand)

You will be asked to rank the songs from your favourite to least favourite ; you may notice that users from specific instance cannot rank the song their instance has submitted, in order to keep things fair. Users from non-participating instances can still participate in the voting, and self identify as third party. Let me know if there's any issue with the form!

Enjoy! 🎶

I love my deck because

  • it can play Steam games fairly well
  • it can play emulated game really well
  • but most importantly it's a linux computer, I can browse the web, watch a movie, even be productive on it, and I sometimes don't even need to plug in a mouse and keyboard or an external screen !

But I was wondering what kind of uses other people have with it, as a non gaming machine?

I'm not sure if the Québécois would like to send their own song, I can make an exception to that, but otherwise it's up to y'all to self organize, eh?

Thanks for your time, hope to see you there! ❤ 🇨🇦

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to launch Lemmyvision, a Eurovision-like Song Contest for Lemmy communities around the world ! I'd love for people across Lemmy to participate, I hope it will bring people together through our diverse taste of music, so join us if you'd like to discover new music and culture from around the world!

What is Lemmyvision?

  • Lemmyvision is inspired from Eureddision (itself a reenactment of the Eurovision song contest) which was held on r/europe some years ago, and based on the participation of national communities / instances and the delicate musical taste of their members (you!).
  • Every country is welcome to participate! The contest follows the rule of “national languages only”. The aim is to promote different languages and cultures from around the world, to share more between our online communities across Lemmy, and discover songs from lesser known artists. I hope to make it a regular event, so hopefully this works well for the first edition!

I'm going to try and share the word across Lemmy, don't hesitate if you want to crosspost to your country's community!

You can find more information on !lemmyvision@jlai.lu, don't hesitate if you have questions or suggestions, or would like to help!

See you soon! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
