Well, I'm not happy, but things seemed like they were going to be much worse. Now I hope that we fight against those who blame Europe for its own mistakes and respond to the legitimate concerns of many citizens, otherwise in five years we will have much bigger problems.

I don't know almost everything about Slovak politics, but I want to think that as a democracy that it is, this man had the support of, at least, a very important part of its population, which is why I consider that any attack against him is an attack on the entire people of Slovakia and its political system. I hope this is the work of a madman and not an organized network of terrorists. On the other hand and on a human level, I hope that this man recovers completely and can resume the functions that the Slovak people consider for him.

Who the hell uses the Spotify app?? If you use it from the browser, ublock eliminates advertising perfectly. Why would I want to use the app where I can't block it?

She was elected by the European Parliament (elected by all citizens) at the proposal of the council, which is formed by the heads of government (elected by all citizens).

I'm not saying that the system is good, but between that and not being chosen by anyone, I think there is a lot of distance. Now she is clearly the EPP candidate so whoever votes for them will know who they vote for, I wish the rest of the groups did the same.

I'm not American, it's not an American competition, I don't understand what this means here. In any case, it is not a historical event, it has not been 20, 10 or 5 years since this happened, this happens and will be happening at the same moment that a representative of the country starts singing to celebrate and entertain the rest, it is grotesque to say the least.

I didn't expect anything from them and they still manage to disappoint me

[-] Foni@lemm.ee 12 points 4 months ago

I came to say exactly that. They are perfectly aware that they are going to overthrow democracy and it's not clear to me that they don't do it regardless of whether they win or lose.

I completely agree, what I'm saying is that even if I could actually buy it, or when this was possible, I would still not have ethical problems with "sailing the seas" nor do I think anyone should have those problems, I say again, the intellectual property belongs to billion-dollar companies

[-] Foni@lemm.ee 21 points 5 months ago

I understand the slogan and why it is used, but I have never had any moral qualms about pirating the intellectual property of a billion-dollar corporation, call me weird.

Only 13%?? With everything he's going through, it seems very little to me. I think that the turning point would be top-level institutions and politicians changing Mastodon, I think that as long as that does not happen Twitter will still be relevant unfortunately

Facebook said the same thing a few years ago and here I am, waiting for them to go away

[-] Foni@lemm.ee 14 points 8 months ago

A few years ago Facebook made the same threats and they are still there, screwing up. They are still empty threats and we all know that they will not do it
