...wait?

Guys, it's like, 30 seconds. Stop, breath.

[–] jhn@xffxe4.lol 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah, most of the elevators I encounter are at hotels while traveling, so it’s usually the first place I have a moment to breathe after going non-stop for hours and hours. I’m not practicing karate, I’m trying not to collapse from exhaustion.

I like to wave and blow a kiss to the security camera just in case someone is looking at it so they know I appreciate them

[–] andrew@lemmy.dblclk.dev 1 points 2 years ago

I do this with every security camera! πŸ˜‚ Often it's more just making a silly face in the hope that someone is watching and has a giggle...

So it's you…

...just before I step out the door when I get to my floor.

[–] pangil@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

I resist the urge to press any button.

Transform back to my original form, it's tiring to keep this human appearance.

[–] outbound@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 years ago

Blue Steel in the mirror.

I reenact that scene from Captain America

[–] fennec@feddit.de 4 points 2 years ago

Check my appearance in the mirror.

Karate? No.

I do let my imagination play out an action/fight scene that will occur when the elevator "dings" and the doors open. Often with an action based song playing in my head.

I watch too many movies.

I just pull out my phone and look at re... er, lemmy

[–] Specific_Skunk@beehaw.org 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I look around for cameras and if I find one, I stare at it for the whole ride. No one really watches those things unless something is being investigated so on the rare chance someone sees it, I’ll just be an oddity in a much more interesting tale.

Usually I just take the stairs though. I hate surveillance.

[–] dirkgentle@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

What if they have cameras at the stairs?

[–] pztrn@bin.pztrn.online 3 points 2 years ago

Getting my phone out of pocket and continue reading that great finction.

[–] at_an_angle@lemmy.one 2 points 2 years ago

I like to take a step in, press my floor button and not turn around. Facing the back of the elevator even if someone else gets on.

[–] Jakylla@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

I think about why I didn't went by the stairs again and again (I like stairs, that's my sport of the day)

I stand real close to the doors and agitate until I'm allowed out

[–] RoryButlerMusic@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

I stare at myself in the mirrored surface. I presume there are cameras, so I don't weird out in there 😬

[–] Dirk@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago

practice your karate

*kzzzt* Could you please stop jumping around in the elevator, you're triggering the gravity sensors and causing alarms. Thank you. *kzzzt*

[–] greensky@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

I ask the question, "Why do we exist?"

[–] SuperSpruce@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

Turn the music from my phone speakers to near full blast if not wearing headphones. And maybe dance to it.

[–] s0m3_one@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago

Nervously stare at my cellphone signal while I play out an entire scenario of being stuck in the elevator by myself for hours.

[–] drgltch@lemmy.fmhy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

if no one is entering the empty elevator when I exit, I mash all the buttons.
