Shout out to the guys who did the awesome Minecraft art (not us). It was only appropriate as a FOSS Minecraft clone, to join as neighbours :).

I haven't gotten into Minecraft the first time around, so now I'm tinkering with MineClone2 because it's one of the rare games that runs on my potato laptop. Also, check out NodeCore for a challenging experience.

Isen't minetest another great open sauce project that takes the best part's of early minecraft experience, also getting mods to work is amazing, like garrys mod addons store so simple

Mineclone is a minetest subgame that makes the game much more like modern Minecraft

When I started to play MineClone2, I started to understand how different gameplay of Minetest and MineCraft are or became.

Minetest Game (the base subgame) pretty much lacks any RPG elements and NPCs. Minetest originally had 3 monsters or something, but they got removed. So the base very much focuses on exploring, building and farming, mostly lacking survival elements.

Both projects took some different turns over the last 12 years.

MineClone2 now gets a lot closer to MineCraft again, but there are other subgames like Exile an NodeCore who get farther away from it.
