I started another playthrough of Skyrim! I'm not using any mods, but I am using content from the Creation Club or something that Bethesda offers, so I’m seeing new quests and weapons. I'm still discovering rooms and such in caves and dungeons I didn’t see before, and after all these years, I’m still having the time of my life! :)

Not to dissuade you from exploring Skyrim some more, but if you've never tried Enderal it's completely amazing. Fan-made game using Skyrim engine and assets, free, and intense. Just, uh, don't play the intro around those who scare easily.

But that's me 😭

Ah wow never heard of this before. Thank you!

[–] dirtySourdough@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

Such a classic! If my backlog wasn't so large I would have returned to it by now

Finished Batman: Arkham Asylum yesterday. Also started Witcher 3 a while ago and have yet to finish that.

Slay the Princess

What a crazy, unexpected gem. Without spoiling anything, it’s a hand-animated interactive narrative game with strong Stanley Parable influences.

That came across my recommendation queue the other day - despite my dislike for horror, it looks interesting enough that I might check it out!

I 'finished' Symphony of the Night the other day. By which I mean I got the bad ending, rather than doing some extra stuff to unlock the inverted castle. Should I go back and do that? Maybe at some point.

I'm very close to finishing Tears of the Kingdom, and I've also started a new playthough of New Vegas on my Steam Deck. Plenty to keep me busy!

[–] MustardCabbage@sh.itjust.works 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Getting the bad ending is, at most, half of the content of that game. So yes! You should finish it

SotN is one of the best games of all time. The GBA Castlevanias are good as well. Thinking of Castlevania always reminds me of that multiplayer co-op CV game on XBL that I wish was still around... Harmony of Despair.

Oh man, I just found a Unity port of Harmony of Despair with an active community playing it!

the very opening of the mirror castle is pretty cool so you should do it

SMT Nocturne, it looks as if I'm about to battle with the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

Old game I know, but old is great 👍

I think I will continue playing Dark Souls Remastered. I am not that far at all. The second boss is killing my nerves.

Or I continue with Minecraft: Create above and beyond Modpack

I’m planning a big mission to the Jool system in KSP, so I’m working on a reusable heavy lifter, large resource scanning probe, a refinery with small collection ships, a big lander, a spaceplane, a science station, comm satellites, and reusable transfer vehicles.

I have mostly been playing Forza Horizon 4.

I am not a car nut, but fun and relaxing to play while listening to a podcast

Unfortunately haven't had much time to play but i've been playing elden ring again. I'm juat getting to Morgott. And witcher 3 (which i've had for probably 6 years now and never beat) i'm in skellige trying to finish the quest where we help them figure out who should be the next leader

[–] t_berium@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

Remnant 2 is still going strong here. My Dark Souls power fantasy - with guns n' shit! Love it!

[–] GlenTheFrog@lemmy.ml 4 points 9 months ago

Resident Evil 4! (the original, not the remake)

Man, what a great game this is so far. It feels oddly nostalgic even though I've never played it before. It's peak design from 2005.

Struggling at the moment to find something to get into.

Played around 4 hours of Days Gone and it didn't really grab my attention.

Played THPS 1+2, got to area 51 on the first game within around an hour and just found it boring these days, I got ruined by Skate and it's far superior control scheme.

Started on Forza Horizon 5, I really enjoyed playing 4 during covid and I am craving this kind of arcade racing but I am just struggling to get into this one. I think it is a combination of the map being boring as fuck and so by extension so are the races and there being so much going on on the map yet seemingly nothing to really do. Also being presented DLC on the map as if it is a race I can go and do really rubbed me up the wrong way a bit.

I have Disgaea 6 to try as well as Wasteland 3 and Disco Elysium but really not feeling an RPG right now. I'd like to try NFS Unbounded but refuse to download a shitty launcher to do so so now I'm lost xD

[–] caut_R@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

I agree so much on Forza 5, it‘s my first Forza and driving through the wasteland that is the part of Mexico they decided to largely use is… boring. Which is a shame cause the graphics, car selection, and driving is top tier. The Crew piqued my interest cause it‘s on Hawaii which sounds immediately more interesting lol, but I think it‘s overall a qualitatively worse game from the looks of it.

Tony Hawk 1+2. Just found out the multiplayer servers are gone, which is a bummer, but it's still fun.

I'm still playing Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen. I'm enjoying the game more now. I thought I had finished chapter 2 but it turns out there was a lot more to do! I find the characters more interesting to play now that they're higher levels and have more spells and gear. The story is developing more too and it's looking good.

I've been playing Valheim with a buddy as well and it's been a blast. Combat and exploring the open world are great fun. I could easily let myself get lost in this game until dawn if I wanted.

[–] Odum@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago (4 children)

Which version of DQIV are you playing?

Project Zomboid. I'm always back to PZ whenever I feel like "gaming". The continuous flow of mods makes this game better and better every time I open the workshop.

[–] Powerbomb@lemmy.ml 3 points 9 months ago

Diablo 4 and EA Sports FC 24

[–] guildz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 9 months ago

Alien: isolation - its okay, I just keep getting lost lol

[–] Infynis@midwest.social 3 points 9 months ago

I've been playing the Witness for the first time, and it's great. I've been doing it as part of a group randomizer though, which makes it so hard lol One day I'll figure out what all these shapes mean

Journey to the savage planet. Been placing through a coop campaign with a friend and it really good. The tounge in check humour is great, awesome parkour dynamics, beautiful environments. First game in a while I've wanted to 100%.

Hidden gem, The Witcher 3. Taking my sweet time to do everything I want, so I'm 120h in and I don't feel like I'm too far into the main questline. That's good, I'd like it to last as long as possible lol

Been playing LunarLux, delightful little game. It's like the people behind it were like "What if we take the Mega Man Battle Network aesthetics, general vibes and battle system but have combat be turn based and get the player to dodge attacks like in Undertale sometimes?"

I have tons of nostalgia for the MMBN games so this doesn't come from an unbiased place but man, they've nailed the sheer Saturday morning cartoon energy the originals had down to a T. The scale is a lot smaller but I can't wait to see what the studio comes up with next if they decide to follow up on this!

I started a new Starsector Run with new Mods. Still in the Stage where my colonies are running a defecit and i have to make credits exploring and Bounty hunting

Manic miners. Basically a remake of the LEGO rock raiders game from 1999. The original was a part of my childhood, and the remake is free, not buggy (unlike the original), and has better graphics. Would definitely recommend.

[–] JoeKrogan@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

sleeping dogs , picked it up about 2 weeks ago when it was on sale. I need to finish the year of the snake dlc now. I played through the main stories quick enough. There was a fun fight tournament mission like the movie enter the dragon.

Other than that I'm dipping in and out of super Mario wonder , emulated on deck and I need to get back to metal gear 5 to finish the campaign.

[–] caut_R@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I played Turmoil which is honestly pretty fun but nothing mindblowing.

I‘ve also finished Supraland which is also recommendable but I wished the dev would have actual useful pointers where to go and what to do next, I‘ve been lost walking around for an hour until I just gave up and checked out a guide on where to go multiple times. Especially when you put it down and come back to it a couple weeks later you‘re doomed lol

Shoutout to Lovely Planet which is an entertaining speedrun FPS that doesn‘t look like much but for sure surprised me. Final shoutout to Pineapple on Pizza which is a ten minute f2p game with a wholesome ending

[–] Infynis@midwest.social 2 points 9 months ago

Supraland is great. I intentionally try to avoid going the right way when I play single player games, but in this one, that kept just putting me where I needed to be lol

[–] Emanuel@lemmy.eco.br 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I'm not one to usually play the latest games, but a friend recommended Chants of Sennaar and I've finished it in a few days between this and last week.

It's been a very fun experience and I hesitate to say more because it's that kind of game that is best to go in blind. Just know that it's about figuring out language in a point and click adventure game which has some breathtaking architecture, scenario and cultures.

[–] danieljoeblack@kbin.social 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I watched SSS stream the game and kinda wish I wouldn't have watched. Gonna wait a bit so I forget some of the puzzles then check it out. Such a beautiful, and interesting game.
