I can't believe the movie already exists and can't be released just because of legal issues around the funding.
Also, it looks absolutely fun as hell. The entire plot seems to be spoiled, but to be honest I didn't see any twists that won't be just as much fun the second or third time around.
It definitely doesn't matter that I know the plot lol I need to see the plot now. This is gorgeous.
The entire plot is more or less a repeat of the original. And I would watch it repeatedly. The fact that they have Carpenter Brut doing the score at least for the trailer here only makes me want to see it that much more. Them on a soundtrack will make it positively Epic.
It's more than legal issues around the funding. The company that was funding them decided that they wanted to take over production and believe they had a contractual right to do so. If it was just about funding he probably could have crowdsourced the money or gotten funding from someplace else.

What could have been... I still have some hope that maybe some day this movie can move forward, and every year or so I check in to see if there is any news on it, but unfortunately not much has happened. The sizzle reel looks amazing. Why can't another publisher come along and fund the movie?
Schwarzenegger could fund it without breaking a sweat if he wanted to.
The issue is both the lack of money AND the contracts related to it.
If a rando donated the money? The company that is allegedly on the hook for not doing so would still expect their cut of the pie and it would just be a different set of lawsuits holding everything up.
I bet enough Schwarzenegger money would instantly make all that go away.

I wonder if we could get Legal Eagle to take a look and make a video about the lawsuit, and maybe even work on the case. With enough pressure and maybe some crowdfunding maybe we could get this thing finished and released. I MUST see this movie!
