If they are citizens it’s not “deportation”, it’s “abduction and human trafficking”

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 34 points 2 days ago

It's that if they aren't citizens as well.

Rendition. Though when done to a prison in a third country that's not the immigrant's country of origin or citizenship it's still rendition.

Politically motivated kidnappings are terrorism. Our government is committing acts of domestic terrorism.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 48 points 3 days ago (16 children)

Which means more 2A people need to start practicing.

ICE agents shouldn't get to go home at night.

They know what they are, they display it proudly

"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

And to cut costs of "deporting" people, they will use trains. And to make it less traumatic, they won't be transferred to prisons, they'll call them camps. But not just normal camps, camps where people can concentrate on becoming better citizens. What if we call them... idk... concentration camps?

[–] Kualdir@feddit.nl 184 points 3 days ago (4 children)

You're telling me the US will have proper train infrastructure? That's a great joke

[–] AbsolutelyNotAVelociraptor@sh.itjust.works 60 points 3 days ago (1 children)

they'll use road trains. Nobody said you would get normal trains, that's too un-american.

They will use cybertrains. basically a bunch of cybertrucks chained together.

[–] miak@lemmy.world 29 points 3 days ago (1 children)

In that case, the trains will double as ovens. Now that's efficiency!

Consider this headline from Bloomberg in this context:

About 90% of Migrants Deported to El Salvador Had No US Criminal Record

[–] TimLovesTech@badatbeing.social 95 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And, they battle each case in court where people in the US are trying to get them back showing they were illegally kidnapped. So even when provided evidence they disappeared someone illegally, they are still fighting to keep them in one of these unregulated death camps.

Due process is dead, ICE is now the Kings Guard sweeping up dissidents, minorities, and whoever else they/he want(s).

[–] lka1988@sh.itjust.works 17 points 3 days ago

Due process is dead

SCROTUS told the trump admin yesterday that due process needs to be followed. All 9 of them.

Of course, SCROTUS didn't say a word about the people who have already been deported, but I suppose it's something...

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If anyone's wondering, this is already illegal.

[–] A_cook_not_a_chef@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

The Supreme Court: "Correction, this is an Official Act! ...or something"

[–] tootoughtoremember@lemmy.world 55 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)
[–] ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk 28 points 2 days ago

If there's no due process for anyone they grab, then they weren't planning to check if you were a citizen first anyway...

[–] AoxoMoxoA@lemmy.world 49 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Shahid Bolsen had an interesting idea. That if they are going to allow people to buy US citizenship for 5 milli that US citizens should be able to sell their for the same price. A person could use the bread to repatriate in another country. 🤔

[–] Soulg@ani.social 23 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I would do that so fucking fast

I've seen this movie before. Can we just skip to the bunker scene?

[–] fossilesque@mander.xyz 50 points 3 days ago (2 children)

May Trump follow his leader.

[–] b_tr3e@feddit.org 37 points 3 days ago

No way. He'd miss his own head and blame the liberals.

“Send US citizens to foreign concentration camps without due process”

[–] CosmoNova@lemmy.world 86 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

It's to Eliminate political opponents and the press in the open. It's how Putin does it and how Nazi Germany started out before moving on to other groups to eliminate. These are the Fascist States of America.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 70 points 3 days ago

"I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20 year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla,” Trump wrote. “Perhaps they could serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions!"

Notably, it's for property crimes against President Musk.

This piggy committed the worst crime possible against the US government, then would send citizens to a concentration camp for upsetting his owner.

[–] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 70 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Fight now or be deported later

[–] grue@lemmy.world 52 points 3 days ago (1 children)

"Deported" makes it sound too good, TBH. It's "fight now or be sent to a death camp later."

Cool. I guess there will be blood in the streets soon enough.

[–] tourist@lemmy.world 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

would be a shame if someone took a comically large mallet and bopped them really hard on the top of their heads so that they become a completely flat disc and they have to breathe in really deep and exhale while holding their noses to unflatten themselves

MAGA crowd have already found a way to defend this move. At this point I am sure, Trump can personally murder 100 kids every day on live TV and MAGA crowd will cheerdance for him. In fact if he complains that he has ran out of kids to murder, MAGA crowd will provide their own kids to kill and continue to cheer dance

I prefer to die in a shootout at home in my PJs rather than a gulag in a shithole I can't find on the map without cheating.

[–] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 39 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Guess it is time for left wing militias

[–] AngrySquirrel@lemm.ee 28 points 3 days ago

Blue state governments also need to resurrect their State Guard/State Defense Forces.

[–] CPMSP@midwest.social 40 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Due process is for suckers.

Time to arm up friends.

So we’re just outsourcing the concentration camps now?

At least the Germans kept the jobs in house.

Cool, Trump can start with himself and his wife.

[–] yenahmik@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago (1 children)

...if it identifies a pathway it can claim to be legal

Based on everything else they have done ignoring legality, I have very little faith they won't just start doing it anyways.

Lovely, can't wait. I used to wonder how we allowed genocide and extermination camps to exist without doing anything. Now i realize it's bcz everyone was too busy trying to live their own lives, and most of the population was too busy hoping they didn't get picked up by the SS, afraid for their own lives.

So, NAL, but...I'm pretty sure this violates both international law and US law.
