I play my Switch now and then, and tend to dump unnecessary amounts of money towards always having the latest console, but there's been nothing shown that has tempted me to get a Switch 2. I'll wait until there's a new Zelda game and an OLED model.

My switch is in the closet, so no. But, if I did currently play switch games, yeah.
I dislike the pricing, but I feel like it's probably fair. I like comparing $price/hr-entertainment vs. going to the movies. I think for most games, it will still be better value. But, I can understand using other metrics. A dropout.tv subscription is only 6.99/mo and there's at least a couple hours of new stuff being added to that each month, I think.
It's fair for Mario kart where 7 others can join without owning a license. The social play elements can justify costs for a few.
Their narrow audience targeting could be a risky bet. We'll see.
3 others can play Mario Kart or 7 other can play Smash Bros. on my Switch without any of them owning any games or hardware.
If a group of people contribute to owning game library it encourages social gaming. That's the nintendo move imo.
For Metroid, NGC games library and an NGC controller, hell fucking yeah
Sounds like you should buy a Nintendo Game Cube
Also you can use a GameCube Controller with the Switch 1.
i REFUSE to pay 500 for the new switch, i don't even want to play any Nintendo games at the moment.
It sounds like you shouldn't buy the switch regardless of cost if you don't want to play any Nintendo games on it.
Yeah if I didnt want to play any nintendo games, I probably wouldn't buy a switch.
1-2 Switch being a $60 game that didn't come with the Switch was just as bogus. And now they're doing it again.
Making the welcome tour paid is completely baffling.
they really want to make a new Wii Sports... but they fail to realise the difference between Wii Sports, Nintendo Land, 1 2 switch and Welcome Tour.
Wii Sports was a pack-in Game!
Wii Sports was a pack-in Game!
That's their problem: the biggest game on the console that everyone knows was given away for free.
Execs: "Do you know how much money we would have made if we sold Wii Sports to people!? We do that from now on!"
Gamers: "F that, I'm not paying full price for a tutorial!"
Apparently the USA division head or whatever Reggie fought tooth and nail for wii sports to be an included free game. Nintendo Japan was very against the idea.
Nintendo Japan making gamer friendly decisions since nineteen ninety never
I'd say it paid off. Look whose remembered.
The console wouldn't have sold as well without it. Wii Sports definitely contributed to the success of the console.
Nintendo is on the same level as HP for me. As in they will never get another cent from me.
hewlett packard or harry potter?
Sauce
Yes
Lovecraft
Horse Power
… yes
I'm still flabbergasted we've arrived at games costing 100€ now. Not some collector's edition, just the normal game. On a console that'll set you back 500€ on its own, not to mention the service subscriptions. Even the god damn next-gen improvements for existing games supported through backwards compat now cost a 2-digit sum. What's next, subscriptions for device features (which you already paid big money for) to work like it's a freaking BMW? It's just utter insanity, and people are still paying for all that shit.

I mean, yes, they already announced that in the direct. The new GameChat built-in-discord thingy is only free until next March, at which point you'll need a subscription to continue using it
I mean the switch already had that with cloud saves and multi-player locked behind a subscription.
oh boy, do I have news for you! The Nintendo Switch 2 has a C-Button on its controller which opens their new feature "Game Chat" for which a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is necessary. This means there is now a dedicated button on the controller, which will open a popup that tells you to buy their subscription!
And it definitely isn't going to get accidentally pressed at the worst possible moment, interrupting your gameplay and likely making you lose! Especially in an online game!
