Summary

Hispanic and LGBTQ communities have been targeted with disturbing anonymous text messages threatening deportation or “re-education camps,” escalating fear and uncertainty.

Latino students in Georgia received texts about deportation, while a lesbian entrepreneur in Nevada was told to report to a camp promoting conversion therapy.

Authorities, including ICE and the FBI, confirmed the messages are hoaxes, but fear of reporting persists among immigrant families.

These messages have instilled fear and uncertainty, especially among immigrant families, but advocates are urging victims to report incidents to trusted officials or community leaders to combat the harassment.

Between this and the plantation texts how the fuck is the FBI not giving any external communication about investigations. Do they really have absolutely nothing to show?

These texts are domestic terrorism. They're non-violent but they absolutely fit the bill for terrorism.

Do they really have absolutely nothing to show?

They don't want to find out. The backers are coming into office in two months' time.

The FBI does not live tweet their investigations.

The FBI doesnt give two shits about domestic terrorism, and has only ever perpetrated it.

They were super busy investigatating black lives matters protestors for example... While they also readily admit nazis are a bigger problem.

Like all cops they prefer low hanging fruit that doesn't fight back, and a lot of them simply agree with the racists.

ACAB includes the FBI that investigated and murdered Fred Hampton.

Yeah but domestic terrorism itself (last I checked) has no criminal statute. It would be much easier if we had a law defining domestic terror and how to prosecute it.

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

It's under terrorism and yes there are many laws.

What a clown

Wanna know who knows who is doing this?

Cell carriers.

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 21 points 1 month ago

Yeah but they've been letting people from India scam everyones grandparents for decades. They clearly have no morals what-so-ever.

Yeah, but we can't hold corporations to some kind of standard. That would be completely unfair to the corporations. They create jobs and for that we should allow them to operate without any oversight whatsoever.

The fascist furvor continues. Republican voters are all claiming it's a hoax. They don't even need to be told by anyone it is. They're fully trained to believe that violence against minorities isn't possible. It's always a conspiracy to make wealthy white heterosexual men look bad. Always.

If you feel like experiencing the sinking crawling feeling in your gut that is realizing you are surrounded on all sides by indoctrinated fascists, read a Fox news comment section. The comments are genuinely horrifying. There is nothing that would cause them to challenge their unwavering support for Trump and his ilk. They will cheer as the military rounds up Black and Hispanic Americans.

I don't even know if we'll make it to January before we start to see republican states make moves towards actually doing these things.

I had a family member who was quite upset by people calling maga Nazis recently... I just thought, stop acting like them and you won't get compared to them.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

I don’t see people opposing maga while flying swastika flags. Funny how I do see a bunch of supporters of it doing so

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

They’re jokes until they aren’t.

Those who wish to bring slavery back are welcome to live as slaves. Those who wish fo mass deportation are welcome to get the fuck out. Those who wish for reeducation camps to attempt to change people’s orientation are welcome to be subjected to it.

"Trusted officials"... Um.. yeah, but no.

[–] Horsey@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Fucking please deport me. I’m begging.
