When I was a kid we only had a handful of DVDs. And being the autist that I am, I never stopped enjoying watching them. I couldn't tell you for sure but it's probably either Ice Age, Finding Nemo, or Monsters Inc.

For those three movies, I can recite not just all the lines, but the intonation and timing of those lines.

Unquestionably Aliens. As a kid I recorded it to VHS from the TV and watched and watched and watched it.

I deliberately didn't watch it for around the last 10 years waiting on the 4K version to come out. Totally worth it.

Princess Bride on VHS taped from tv. 30x seems like a fair guess.

Difficult to say. I’ve never been one to fixate on a single film for long. The ones below are likely candidates for various reasons though. I must have seen each at least 6 times. Probably none of them more than a dozen though.

Since I've been using trakt.tv for a few years now: Clue (edit: with 23 logged viewings)

There are a few other movies that might be up there, but that I mostly watched repeatedly before I used trakt: Goonies, Jurassic Park, Tremors, Men in tights. All in the 10-15 range on trakt.

Then there's others that I watch on a yearly basis for a long time: Independence Day, Die Hard, Home Alone, A Christmas Story (+ do partial viewings count?) - 10 each on trakt.

And by sheer number of hours, the LOTR trilogy :) - 9 viewings per movie on trakt.

I Love You, Man

It’s not a cinematic masterpiece and I don’t care. It’s just a fun movie from the mid-2010’s from the friends of Seth Rogen about friendship and it’s something I like having on as background noise now but I love revisiting it and the atmosphere it had, reminding me of the 2010’s and good times I had with friends back then.

Probably... Ace Ventura, Pet Detective. How are you this afternoon? Aaalrighty then!

When I was younger, I must have watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs at least 50 times.

It's either Hot Shots or Airplane!. Sequels included. A close third will be the Harry Potter series or the Star Wars saga.

As a child (like 3-4) I would watch the same movie every day for months. I assume this is an autism thing. In other words, I've probably seen Space Jam over a hundred times. Other movies I've seen way too many times include Babe and Toy Story.

Waking Life. I tend to learn something new from it pretty much every time. It’s an incredibly dense movie talking about what it means to be alive and why we should value it. It was my introduction to a lot of Eastern philosophy.

I have seen The Matrix probably 1500 times. It is my go-to movie when I just can't sleep and need to put on something to distract my brain.

One of the Ghibli movies definitely, probably Princess Mononoke, Porco Rosso or Nausicaa.

Absolutely loved them growing up, when I was a kid I taped them from TV and made my own little box set of bootleg VHS Ghibli collection.

There was this summer with really bad weather when we watched Highlander almost every day. It inspired me to visit Scotland. After many many years I managed to do that and I even visited Glenfinnan so I wrote a postcard (yes, that occured many years ago ;)) back home saying: "I am Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. I was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. And I am immortal."

Hm, this is a tough one. The Princess Bride is definitely up there as I watched that a bunch as a kid, along with Toy Story and the Aristocats (all on one VHS). Nausicaa and the first Star Wars are definitely up there too.

In my adulthood the Toy Story and the Aristocats are the only two I haven't rewatched consistently (though I'd like to with the latter!). There's still a lot of Princess Bride & Nausicaa, I watch through all the Star Wars' a couple times a year, but my adulthood comfort movie has been Baby Driver.

It just seems to check all the boxes for what I need. It's not too slow, there are a bunch of subtle details, it's fun, it has good heart and emotional connection to the characters. It has a lot of homage, particularly to the movie Drive (2011) while managing to stay a completely separate film. I can't say how many times I've watched it, it at least as many times as the others, just in a shorter period of time.

The only issue with the movie is that it has some problematic actors, Kevin Spacey and the main character played by Ansel Elgort. Despite their IRL problems I don't really mind separating them from the film. And the rest of the cast is just stellar.
