Well, who would have thought that there would be cameras present?

This is a repost of another comment I made from the other thread, he isn't exactly a great person.

This isn't his first rodeo, lol. From Wikipedia, I would go to the sources but they're all in Spanish. Here's one on the embezzlement for orgies.

Corruption allegations

On 18 April 2022, the Spanish digital newspaper El Confidencial published some leaked documents and audio files that they called Supercopa Files,[20] which included conversations that took place in 2019 between Rubiales and the footballer and businessman Gerard Piqué. The audio files find Rubiales negotiating to pay Piqué commissions related to playing the Supercopa de España in Saudi Arabia.[21] One of the conditions for these commissions was that two of the four participating teams would need to be Barcelona (Piqué's club at the time) and Real Madrid. Rubiales would also benefit from these commissions due to the variable part of his salary in the federation.[22]

In 2022, Luis Rubiales' uncle and former chief of staff Juan Rubiales denounced Rubiales to the anti-corruption prosecutor's office for an alleged emblezzlement of RFEF money, reportedly spent in orgies with a group of friends in a house in Salobreña in 2020.[23] He has also been accused of using federation resources for his personal enjoyment, such as a trip to New York in 2018 accompanied by a Mexican painter.[24] According to Juan Rubiales, Luis Rubiales also devised an espionage scheme against AFE president David Aganzo.[23]

In December 2022, Rubiales filed a lawsuit against Wikipedia demanding that content on the Spanish Wikipedia which might be seen as damaging to his honour be removed.[25] The complaint was filed through the legal department of the RFEF. The lawsuit focuses on Wikipedia content about scandals including negotiations for the sale of the Supercopa de España to Saudi Arabia said to involve commissions and personal benefits, and derogatory WhatsApp postings about teams in the Spanish league.[26]

That's amazing, thanks. It's been hard to track down the details due to the language barrier. Very much appreciated.

Rubiales has certainly a lot to say about the rfef leaders, otherwise they wouldn't stand behind him like they do.

Vilda (the team manager) is despised by the players, who have been trying to get him ousted. Rubiales is responsible for his still being in post. I would guess most of them are extremely reliant on his patronage. He wasn't even that good a footballer in his day. It's just a boys club where he uses RFEF money to throw orgies and they like beng protected from any fallout from their ridiculous machismo, I guess.

But the RFEF are starting to turn on him, at regional level at least: Luis Rubiales: Regional Spanish FA bosses call on president to resign over kiss.

Awful for Hermoso but ultimately good for Spanish football, I think. It's gone beyond ridiculous and the inevitable fall will be glorious.

Maybe they have similar, entitled, macho opinions.

As if the original viral footage wasn't enough, but glad there are more angles to remove all doubt.

Pretty insane that his mother is literally willing to die for "justice" when it's dead obvious he initiated everything. Some people are blind to the truth when it involves family.

That website's cookies settings are awful - anyone got a link to the video itself?

[-] JoBo@feddit.uk 5 points 10 months ago

It's a Twitter link in the article. Hence not linking to it direct.
