It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

They don't recommend wearing a helmet, instead they ask "Do you need a helmet for an e-bike?"

Edit: here's a link to the post about rising rates of head injuries attributed to ebikes.

Good idea to wear a helmet with any bike, I always do.

What do the statistics say about the usefulness of those cheap and simple helmets?

IDK, I have a Bell Super Air R, but I bet even a budget helmet is a hell of a lot better than nothing.

So you feel like that is how it should be? Or do you know it based on evidence?

The only times I ever hear of people wearing any helmet at all dying while using a bike is from getting hit by a truck with a front grill at or above shoulder height if they were standing next to it.

How often do you hear such stories?

If it's a bike helmet with an actual safety standard stamp/tag (all helmets sold in North America, from what I understand), then they will protect you at bike speeds. MIPS is better than non-MIPS.

Got an ebike that goes as fast as a motorcycle? Then you'll want a motorcycle helmet.

I love how people here chime in with opinions, but nobody is able to actually provide evidence that shows how those styrofoam shells are actually helping. Those I know about fail to show that, hence I do not simply take it as given.

They clarify in the next paragraph:

In a lot of countries it’s not a legal requirement, but you should still wear a helmet at all times. Sure, they may mess up your hair, but that’s a small sacrifice to pay for something that could save your life.

Mess up your hair or mess up your brain.

Some people think wearing a helmet doesn't look cool, but I think you look like much more of a fool biking with a naked head.

Thank you for coming to my TedX talk.

Love how it says that an "illegal ebike" that has more than pedal assist is a moped, when legally a moped is considered a bicycle without the need for a moto license. At least in the US

Laws can differ from place to place.
