This is literally the second time Trump helped torpedo a border deal between Democrats and Republicans. Remember back in 2018 when Democrats were ready to give Trump initial funding for the wall and then Fox and Friends convinced him that he could get better and then Democrats basically took their ball and went home?
GOP is constantly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at the behest of Trump. I guess the GOP thinks Trump's penis tastes like a creamsicle. It's just sad watching them do it to themselves for a second time.
Blaming Trump for them being something they've always been minimizes their contribution to the enshitification of the country.

Apparently serving Russia and scuttling the Ukraine part of the deal is much more important than getting what they’ve wanted. It’s so obvious that this whole thing is about holding up aid to Ukraine, no matter what the issue would’ve been over. The goal posts were always going to move no matter what, Dems handing a border deal to them on a silver platter proves it. Dems could hand them a total ban on abortion and they’d still turn it down if Ukraine aid was attached to it.
If I didn’t have to watch my country fall apart this would be entertaining. If you’re a Brit, this must feel like Brexit feels.
