I think this is why I like solarpunk. It enables us to imagine a better world, focused on us instead of the economy or whatever society thinks the most important construct is.

Literally about to apply for a job that doesn't post it, even though it is a government agency and they have fixed salary brackets for each job...

Note: I might just be uneducated on the subject.

When I read about web3 with blockchains, smart contracts and dapps, all sounds very promising. But once you look for any real world applications it is just some obscure things that kind of only exist to support the decentralized system. I guess that makes sense, but are there any actual real world uses for that? Like day-to-day things that make a persons life easier, not harder?

My current water kettle leaks more by the day. It is mostly stainless steel, but the few plastic parts are corroded and lead to leaking.

Do you have recommendations for fully stainless steel or similar kettles that are basically not able to break?

I was looking at this: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/xiaomi-wasserkocher-170-l-wasserkocher-23599517

But I don't really trust xiaomi to make quality consumer products

How can we trust anything from LTT at this point?

They probably did, just not explicitly:

You could write (6*1/100)*50 = 6*(50*1/100)

It only uses the commutative property of multiplication and the fact that % is another way of writing 1/100.

Maybe also worth remembering that "x% of y" is just x/100*y

I'm sure there are a lot of reasons why PHP is better than Python for the backend, but I created an app wirh Symfony 5 and then an app with Django 4.

Symfony is so weird compared to Django. With Django I can just sit down and get things done. Symfony always seems to have some quirks which are mostly due to PHP (and me not knowing how to program in PHP).

That said, PHP hosting is so much easier and cheaper, this probably is important for smaller projects.

Feels relevant and revealed some surprising things for me!

From the games and shows, which soundtrack do you like the most?

The music from the Netflix series is kinda the best thing about it. But Witcher 3 is my favorite. The older games are also nice, but just really feel like game music from the 2000s. I don't like the music from the Blood Origins, but also haven't watched it...
