German jokes are the wurst.

I am Dutch but moved to England (for love) 16 years ago and I have never regretted it. Do it while you can, else you will just live with the regret. It is such a life experience moving countries, there is no way to describe it. The magical feeling that you have in the beginning does disappear a little over the years, but it never leaves completely. The memories you create are just so amazing that you will never lose the magical feeling entirely.

Just. Do. It.

Just use adguard dns. Problem solved!

I don't see what the problem is with Arch Linux and why it gets so much flak. I am not a Linux expert by any measure, but I use EndeavourOS and find it really use to use (don't ask me to install from scratch). Its extremely stable and I like the fact that it gets updated constantly.

The only other distro I really liked is MX Linux. My main gripe was that I don't want to reinstall every so many years. I want to set up an OS and just use it without worrying about it being a temporary thing. But maybe I'll change my mind in the future.

I'm not for or against any distro really, maybe except Ubuntu and its bloat. I just use what best suits me, which is the whole point of all the different distros.

Well, first impressions are great and I think there's plenty to do for someone new to the game. I like the approach of polishing the game first and then adding content.

I applied for the beta today and got accepted straight away. I love the look of this game and will be using it to get me to walk out more.

First impressions are good, the game is very polished and you can see that the creators really take their time with things, the level of detail is insane.

The game seems easy to pick up and I am looking forward to following it's development closely.

What a joke.

I'm a millennial and I don't choose to do anything, we're forced to only spend our money on necessities such as food, because we can't afford anything else.

I'm no better off financially today than 14 years ago when I earned a third of what I earn now.

I'm still living month to month, because all basic necessities keep increasing faster than my wage increases.

My last holiday was in 2016.

If you're open to trying fantasy (not far off from sci-fi), the Redwall series might be of interest.

Although it was originally aimed at young teens, it's a very enjoyable series for adults too. Some of the best writing I have ever come across.

Good luck with your search!

I guess this has been going on for some time and not only on iPhone but also Android.

I'm not liking the way things are going with mobile. Tracking, ads and now bloody AI everywhere.

I don't think anyone wants AI enhanced photos and all that crap.

I was looking at phone shops the other day, and all you can buy (mainstream) is Apple and Samsung. Different shops stock a variety of other brands, such as Sony (what's left of it) Motorola and Xiaomi here and there.

There is no variation, everything looks the same and they're not being challenged. Mobile is now officially boring.

We need a new platform again to challenge the status quo. It was a real shame that Microsoft messed up Windows phone. WP8 was the best operating system in my opinion. Unfortunately no support from developers killed it (and later by Microsoft messing it up with Windows 10)...

Isn't selling it abandoning it?

[–] sayitghoul@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago (9 children)

I was interested in Beeper until I saw that it was run by the guy who ran Pebble.

Massive red flag for me. This'll be abandoned just like he did Pebble...
