Evaporated inside the Death Star's reactor -> Get Somehowed back into existence.

There's no superpower that compares to bad writing.

“don’t take my info”

In some regions, like the UK, you have to upload either a photocopy of a personal ID or a photograph of your face to verify your age before creating a PSN account. I think it's fair to be uncomfortable with it when you have to trust Sony, a company with notoriously bad cybersecurity, not to leak it to criminals.

For those not in the know: aussie man explains. A KDE Plasma 6 global theme deleted a user's files. Global themes may contain arbitrary Javascript code, and a bug (using a library written for Plasma 5) caused it to essentially run rm -rf /*, Steam-style. KDE have since removed the theme and are considering next steps to warn the user that the "official" KDE store contains user-submitted content, and that some addons may contain potentially dangerous code.

Some sort of hidden, concealed, clandestine internal QoS implementation in Windows. Reserving a portion of network bandwidth for high priority traffic sounds like a good concept, but I don't like the fact that this is so hidden (I've been working with computers for many years and I've never heard of it until now), and that the mechanism to determine the priority of a packet is unknown.

You block ads because of privacy.

I block ads to cause the greatest amount of financial damage, purely out of spite.

We are not the same.

"Technical tweaks"? Did the author write this while sucking huffman's taint?

Remember: no preorder. No matter how good No Man's Sky turned out eventually, this will only be their second game of the open-world survival genre and it might need to go through the same engoodening. I just hope Sean leaves the PR to people who can do PR.

Did we all collectively forget that far too many Americans were willing to spread a deadly illness, deny its existence, spread conspiracy shit about the vaccine, and host literal mask-not-allowed COVID parties, while people were dying as their lungs melted, just to oWn ThE LIbS?

Even the best military response can't defeat the collective willful stupidity of citizens.

"There was an emergency and power was temporarily cut to the card reader terminals, and now none of them work. We need to get to the server room to reboot the access control server, but it's behind a card-only door."
"How much do we want to get in?"
"Very much."
"Stand back."

And that's how I ended up busting down the server room's door.
