That’s not really true though. We got home video because it allowed us to watch films at home. There’s an argument that VHS won over Betamax because Sony didn’t allow porn titles on Betamax. Even if that’s true, it was only an advantage for VHS because there was no other easy way to get that content.

Now there is no problem with accessing porn on the internet. In fact the differentiator for many service providers is how to successfully protect households and schools from porn. If Lemmy becomes known as “the porn network”, little Johnny is going to find that loophole closed in short order.

Looks like you’ve got a space in your link there. It should read “test ![](….”, the ! is part of the markdown. I just copied the link from your post and it displays okay. Enjoy your steak and bean dinner!

You never wash your belt? I bet you never wash the poop-knife either.

Sheesh.

Hey are you on iOS? That’s fixed in the next release which you should see later today!

That’s where join-lemmy really missed out. They should have introduced a set of rules like join-mastodon where instances must have at least two admins, a clear code of conduct, and clear rules as to how they manage closedown. That way users would be reasonably safe in picking an instance at random. But they didn’t so everyone should go to safe choices like lemmy.world.

I watched Severance by mistake, thinking I was watching Succession, which meant I was totally disoriented for the first few episodes as I waited for Brian Cox to turn up. It was glorious. Can totally recommend.
