Yeah I thought that headline might be satire too

The Pope is woke! Gender ideology IS toxic.

We should support the catholic church in their initiative to reform their sexist gender roles.

I'm impressed the patriarch of Rome is so invested in dismantling the patriarchy.

... wait that's not what he means? He supports highly defined gender roles? What a toxic ideology.

One of the challenges is of course that the wealthy don't get paid. They own and control assets that appreciate in value.

What if we ended private ownership of businesses. I don't mean ending ownership of businesses, but that every business became publicly tradeable. No more private ownership of businesses.

I'm not actually advocating this (yet), just curious what people think would happen if we did this.

There is a zero percent chance of Biden pardoning him.

If AOC is elected president then maybe.

Am I too dense to recognize that everyone is intentionally not saying:

Massive squirt from sloppy pussy (furry)

Good point, what kind of wellness check involves a roadside stop?

It seems quite possible that the police pulled him over to harass him.

Here's how it should have gone:

photographer waiting for good lighting

Embassy doesn't feel nervous because they have at least one iota of experience observing humans

Another pretty good scenario:

photographer waiting for good lighting

Embassy: Hey why are you hanging around out there?

Photographer: oh I'm just writing for the light to good for this very common tourist photo opportunity

Embassy: okay, but please don't take photos of us

Here's another situation:

photographer waiting for good lighting

Police: Hey we got a call that you're loitering here, and it's making people nervous. What are you up to?

Photographer: I don't think I need to explain myself, it's pretty obvious I'm trying to get a good photo of the very common tourist photo opportunity.

Police: okay just make sure you're not blocking the sidewalk.

Did nobody in this comment section read the video at all?

The only case mentioned by this video is a case where highschool students distributed (counterfeit) sexually explicit images of their classmates which had been generated by an AI model.

I don't know if it meets the definition of CSAM because the events depicted in the images are fictional, but the subjects are real.

These children do exist, some have doubtlessly been traumatized by this. This crime has victims.

Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy has an alien species that evolved on a planet (Krikkit)with constant thick dust clouds.

Upon first witnessing the glory and splendor of the Universe, they casually, whimsically, decided to destroy it, remarking, "It'll have to go." (...) the Krikkiters built an incredible battlefleet and waged a massive war against the entire Universe. The Galaxy, then in an era of relative peace, was unprepared, and spent the next 2,000 years fighting the Krikkiters in a war that resulted in about two "grillion" casualties

Isaac Asimov also mused about ribbon worlds. ie tidally locked planets with a habitable zone in the twilight regions.

I seem to recall also reading a story about a species on a ribbon world but because of precession had a 10,000 year (or so) day. They had a constant slow migration and eventually started finding the ancient forgotten ruins of their own society.

Also nightfall by Asimov.

I mentioned my adhd diagnosis in a post earlier today so you may be the same inquirer. Regardless here's a little bit more of my story.

I was born in 1986 and not diagnosed with ADHD until 2021 (I was 35). I didn't do anything about about my diagnosis until 2023 when my career started going off the rails. I sometimes fantasize about what my career would have been like if I'd been diagnosed (and acted on the diagnosis) 15 years ago when I started to suspect something was up.

For me it mostly manifests as struggles to initiate tasks unless they're interesting or urgent.

Is it over diagnosed? Maybe. Our brains evolved to hunt, collect berries, and work collaboratively with our clan. If we struggle do so TPS reports so that shareholders know how their incomprehensible riches are being used, is it fair to call that a mental disorder?

Is paying money to the pharma-man so we can be a better money machine for your bosses shareholders kinda fucked up? Yes.

But will it also help me better support the things I value? My family? My community? My interests? Yes.

I think if you want to know if ADHD is over diagnosed you need a scholarly resource, not an internet forum.

An Abaya is just a flowing robe.

This ban is like an American school saying you're allowed to wear cowboy hats but not sombreros because sombreros are associated with catholicism, in that they are mostly associated with the culture of a predominately catholic country.

This is like banning kids from wearing rainbows because it signifies their values.

Tesla spent years building a brand identity that is intimately woven together with Musk.

It worked well for a long time but it makes sense if people lose faith in Musk they lose faith in Tesla. Because he is synonymous with the brand.

Lol so are the CEOs of all the other manufacturers people to look up to and admire?

They haven't built their brands around the reputation of their ceo.

Would I buy a Tesla? Ya if the car itself is good.

How can you evaluate if a car is good? It has recently been revealed that Tesla/Musk was exaggerating their range so severely that Tesla owners thought their cars were defective. Tesla has been trading on a reputation of 'goodness' that it didn't deserve.

Tesla is seeing repercussions from risks they took tying their brand so tightly with Musk.
