That's actually how I kept up with his reviews, I sometimes just can't follow his rapid delivery and reading the transcript was better to fully understand his skits

People stood against fascists in the last parliament elections in France, and Macron composed a government of fascists, so that's not even enough anymore here

Sounds like buying a steam deck with extra steps for the person who wrote this article haha

Great read thanks for sharing

I do think the need for ease of use led us to centralisation, this was bound to bite us back...

Even then, from 2000s to 2010, french forums were mainly hosted on the same platform (forumactif)

lol kickstarter is an even worse business model for video games, they have even less incentive to deliver if they get funded

They have a loooooooooong way to go

Yeah France remains one of the most productive countries in the European Union, so they must be doing something right

Here's an interesting report on France productivity from 2019: https://economy-finance.ec.europa.eu/system/files/2019-11/en_1errapportcnp-10july-final.pdf

I hope my post doesn't break the rules ; I'd like to invite as many people as possible to participate to Sunnyvision, the summer edition of the Lemmyvision song contest.

It's a fun way to celebrate summer, and discover new music, more info on the original post, quoted below !

TL;DR

  • In ~~this thread~~ the thread on !lemmyvision@jlai.lu, in the comments, post a song that was released in summer of any year.
  • Next week, you'll be able to vote for your favourite song from the songs posted here.

Remember that time I wanted to set up a smaller scale Lemmyvision for summer? Yeah me neither.

But here it is, it's still summer for a week, so..

Welcome to Lemmyvision's summer edition, Sunnyvision!🌞

If you don't know what Lemmyvision is, check out the sidebar!

The aim is to promote different languages and cultures from around the world, to share more between our online communities across Lemmy, and discover songs from lesser known artists.

The first edition concluded on April (https://jlai.lu/post/6041838) with 9 instances/countries/communities participating! The Northern Boys - Sexy Train (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VXKhJfRQ7k), the feddit.uk submission, won!

For this 'lighter' edition, the goal is to celebrate the last week of summer, with some summer related tunes. You do not need to bring your instance/community, everyone can share a song, no matter what instance they're on, as long as they can federate here!

Rules

  • Just post a song that was released in summer, from any year you want
  • At the end of the week I'll gather all the songs posted in this thread
  • You'll then be able to listen to a playlist with all those songs, and vote for your favourite!

Spread the word if you can, and I hope you have fun, and that everyone can discover new music! 🎶

Emmanuel Macron’s refusal to accept a minority left government was a mistake. Having lost the election he needs to give ground

Of course not. Here’s how leading AI labs mislead consumers, journalists, and each other.

Every month or two, an AI lab releases a new model that they claim leaves most, if not all, of their competitors in the dust. Recent examples include OpenAI’s GPT-4o, Anthropic’s Claude 3 Opus, and Google DeepMind’s Gemini Ultra. These announcements are generally followed by a large amount of hype from the tech media, like Ars Technica’s breathless “The AI wars heat up with Claude 3, claimed to have ‘near-human’ abilities.” People tend to take these claims seriously. They use these numbers to decide which labs are “ahead” of the others and often to decide which LLMs to use. However, they would do better to treat these reports with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Personally I've been rocking Sauvage by Dior for a while
