I generally prefer the UI of Apple Maps (Google is way too cluttered), but Google has much more complete review data, hours, and menus, so I usually end up using Google.
In short, open source APIs for everything.
- Open up Facebook Messenger to Matrix, allowing interoperability with all Matrix clients
- Open up Facebook/Instagram to ActivityPub, allowing for third party clients
- Remove account gates for public Facebook/Instagram pages
- RSS feeds for public Facebook/Instagram pages
I still haven't quite forgiven Google for abandoning owners of the Nexus 5X the second the Pixel came out...
