Because they don't want to face that their multi million/billion dollar investments are not going to pay off.

By this logic every locksmith should be put on trial for making locks, every manufacturer of vaults and safes, every lumber company for making wood used in fences, every costume designer for making halloween masks, every post office for renting PO boxes... etc.

They actually made the load time worse with their update. Not by a little, by a fucking tonne. Going from any interior to outside now takes like a full minute and 30 seconds, its ridiculous.

Ehhh, I think its probably code for

"We want to try to convince you that this was unintentional and not a calculated business decision that was made with the objective of profit at your expense.

We want you to believe that our multi-billion dollar company did not foresee this even though we have hundreds, if not thousands, of business analysts who work for us globally who definitely suggested this was a possibility in the first 10 minutes of account linking on PC after 4 months being suggested internally.

Also our PR people probably suggested it as a possibility.

Also our legal team probably suggested it as a possibility.

But even though we analyze the industry and the market and the users, and the business, and the case studies, and the marketing, and the games constantly, not stop, day and night, globally; please believe us that we are still trying to learn whats best for PC teehee.

In the future, we will be sure to try to force you into account linking from the beginning with any future release.

Please ignore our transgressions and instead give us money. Goodbye"

Nothing can really kill reddit, but as far as content goes I expect it will follow the same path facebook did where the only people who eventually really interact on it will be conspiracy theorists and moms.

It won't work. Ever. VPN's free and paid exist, File sharing exists, Torrents exist, AI pornography generators exist, freenet, tor, I2P all exist. There is no action a government could take that would have any true impact in this regard unless they made the use of the internet illegal, and even at that, it would create a black market in which such things could still be purchased as physical media.

All this does is allow government entities to infringe on privacy rights further by doing what they have always done - hiding behind children.

I had this happen to someone I mentor and pointed out that they had two versions of the same file in two different paths named the same. They were running the version in the other path than they were editing lol.

Lol, the user doesn't seem to realize that if everywhere you go and comment, if absolutely everyone is an asshole, then maybe it's you that's the problem...
