Are you, too, tired of the rhyming?

You are a fintech dev using floating point? And your advice is to encode things as strings?

...

This is why I got out of fintech.

(I am sorry, I know there are horrors and I am sure I am not familiar with your exact scenario.)

Edit: just for anyone who passes by: try to stick with integers in a currency's smallest unit of division. (This is only one small bit of this problem, but the number of times I have seen currency values in floating point makea me psychotic.)

The real problem I see all the time is people keep cutting this story short, the rest goes:

Workers: oh fuck no, I'm out, see ya.

Capital: wait, not like that. Please. What do you want? We can talk. Please ... please come back.

Weird to me that last bit gets left off, especially in subs like Socialism and Work Reform.

Don't forget how the story ends.

Edit: everyone commentong below about how the story can't go this way is a reason solidarity and unity are so hard. Capital wants very badly for workers to forget that workers are where the power is..Keep telling youself all the reasons you don't matter if you want, but not everyone believes their bullshit.

The dismissal of a sexually selected trait just because it usually is far more pronounced in one sex than the other seems extemely premature to me.

I would argue chins are actually already quite different between the sexes - to the point where people will have surgery to change their appearance if their chin doesn't conform to societal ideals.

Sexually selected trait seems like an avenue of research that shouldn't be so easily dismissed.

For the operatives put in danger and/or killed, it was worth human life?

You seem to be ignoring that Assange either knowingly or unknowingly risked peoples' lives, people who had often given those lives into great risk in service of their country.

When the leaks first happened, I was supportive of Wikileaks (a natural position for an anti-war person like me). Later, when it was revealed that there had been no or little due diligence to ensure the information had been vetted and scrubbed, I realized how extreme it can be on both ends of the political spectrum.

Stop trying to paint this with some large political brush.

Assange is not a hero. The US government is not innocent.

The cars might be, but their weights are their weights and that is an apples to apples comparison in the context of

And now to make lighter EVs that don't wear on the road so much.

I get the joke.

But if, like me, you actually feel this here's how I got away from it: make sure you actually understand things.

Read the error message over and over again, look up the words, understand what it is saying.

If something isn't working, start reading the code and making sure you understand what each line is doing.

It will feel incredibly slow and painful at first. Eventually you will strengthen those.muscles, however, and it'll become second nature.

Then you can cut and paste with confidence! 🤣

Someone gets naked so everyone loses their minds.

People shoot up schools: thoughts and prayers, thoughts and prayers....

Religion is insanity.
