The only subreddit I miss is combatfootage, and we already have communities that fill that niche, albeit no where near as active

It’s the battery. A lot of doorbell cameras have an internal battery to keep the camera powered when the chime is rung. A few of my friends have to replace their unifi doorbell cameras once a year after winter

Switched from a pixel 5 to an iPhone 13 Pro 2 years ago when google removed smart home integration from the power menu. Other than the way iOS handles notifications I have no regrets, picked up a 14 pro max a few months ago and have been loving the full days worth of battery life, something I never achieved on any other phone.

You can build engraving lasers for less than $500. Lots of people have expensive hobbies, some decide to make content with them.

You can get decent ones on Amazon for less than $500. I think I paid like 350 for my 12” deep one, I’ve rotated it every 3 months and it still feels like new a few years later

Someone that is good with SEO could create a read-only instance that federates with every available instance to help with that

I haven't played with ansible before but that looks like exactly what I want, thanks! I'll spin up a VM on my dev server at home and play around with it

I use BTN and RED as backups for Usenet, otherwise I don’t use torrents

As far as I’m aware lemmy does not support load balancing or high availability as it currently stands. But development is still in its infancy and I’m sure that’s a top priority

Your ISP may still have a Usenet server going, but it’s unlikely. Best bet is getting a block account or waiting for a $3-5/month unlimited sale

The warranty is transferable though. If it’s still within the 1 year manufacturer warranty valve will still warranty it, as long as it hasn’t been reported stolen
