Ok thank you. Then I just patch the boot img, side load the zip file and I'm done?

Thaank you. Hey, I noticed in the instruction that it talks about installing the Pixel Experience custom recovery. Where can I find this for my phone? And how does it work? Is it like TWRP / OrangeFox but specifically for PE?

EDIT: I noticed, I guess that it must be the boot.img on the github right?

This is not my phone.

"Camellia/n" are the. POCO M3 PRO and my phone. That is the citrus. I think it even has a different processor, unfortunately pixel experience is not available officially. I could go with unofficial but I'm scared I won't get security updates and stuff

I have no idea how that's done. It's probably a nightmare not having playstore.

Although now that I think of it, you have things like apkmirror so I guess it's not so bad.

I don't mean you have to buy Huawei products. I just mean I liked how the OS looks. I haven't even tried it and probably will never. For me customization is very important, I just love to change my phones layout colors and homscreen every now and then and just mess with how the phone's esthetic can change. That's what I meant about the launchers and widgets, it's just something I love.

I obviously won't buy a phone just because it's very customizable. But when picking something like a OS or ROM it's certainly a point to consider for me at least.

Chinese spyware? Certainly didn't know that... I that the reason they were banned from US?

Apart from that, I just don't really want to free myself from Google, Microsoft etc. I still depend a lot on their software and products, and privacy to that extent, while it's certainly not good, I personally don't mind it.

I respect that some people are more careful about their privacy, that's how it SHOULD be for everyone. Unfortunately I still need and want to use their products, so I find it obvious they want something in return. The worst it can do to you is show you personalized ads... Or at least I think so.

Well, yes, I have never tried any Huawei phones myself. So I don't have an opinion on how their phones are. But this OS really seemed cool to me when I saw it. Idk how much time has it been active, maybe I'm a bit late?

I recently saw mrwhosetheboss's video on banned (in us) banned Huawei products. And I really liked the os the phones had.

In my opinion, the animations were really cool. The customization seemed really nice, specially on the widgets aspects. And thought when using phones it is not something I really look into, I found the whole ecosystem part really good and for some people I think it would be perfect.

What are your thoughts? Do you think it's better than stock android / pixel launcher (which I've heard people say is the best option as for now, and thought I haven't tried it yet I think it probably is)?

Also I don't know if harmony os is installable on other Androids. Would it be worth it? Or you would stick with custom ROM like Pixel Experience?

I want to see what you think!

Makes sense. What a shame

[–] Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 11 months ago

Yeah you're right. I can see and I respect people's reasons for not wanting to use windows / Microsoft products.

I just wanted to point out this as I think many people still consider edge as a bad browser. At least in my experience it works really well and I personally like the style it has and overall the "windows 11 aesthetic" Microsoft is choosing for their products.

I'm pretty sure MAS let's you activate something similar to a MICROSOFT 365 subscription, at least, that's what I did last time I think.

But maybe is what you're saying and it's not MS365 but office 365 which I suppose as you're saying it is not the same??? That's new for me.

But yes, copilot has been announced tough it is in preview. I was asking so that when the moment arrives I know what version to install.

[–] Sasori323@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Idk, I really like Edge. It just has bad reputation due to Internet Explorer... It is actually very good imo.

With the new (not so now but relatively) copilot announcement. I surely want to have my Microsoft 365 with all my features possible.

What product should I download (options should be from MAS's office download website) to have the MOST FEATURES, I don't mind it being lightweight or anything, I just want all the features possible. Thanks in advance

Yeah you're probably right. Thanks for the advise.

I am currently using Xiaomi MIUI 14. But I dont know if this is a global problem or just of MIUI.

When rebooting, some of the icons in my homescreen just disappear. I have to update the homescreen again (for example, activating and deactivating Ultra Battery Saver) for them to show up. Why does this happen?

Just that, I found this web while looking on FMHY and this seems to be the perfect torrenting tool. Is it really?

It seems to have no GB cap though it has speed-cap but it is not that important. And most importantly it is free

I've heard that gcam is just better than all the stock apps on android phones. I have MIUI stock camera and I hate it, at least on my phone, it feels like "laggy" and just doesn't work well.

As it is not on the play store (at least in Spain, where I live) is ther any way to install it? Maybe something like a port to other android devices as I thinks the gcam app only works on Pixel Phones.

Last of all, no, I don't want to go install the pixel experience custom rom as I already have a lot of things in my phone and don't want to lose my things. Though I will definitely if I ever get a new phone.

I have a 64GB SD Card formatted as internal storage. And I would like to install apps into it. How can I do this?

I've tried every web on the megathread to download modded mobile games but for some reason it doesn't matter where do I download from they just crash. For example, I have downloaded a game from revdl and it works perfectly, but if I download the same exact version but modded it crashes. Maybe it has to do with MIUI? I have no idea, I used to install games from an app called happy mod and they worked nice.

I recently started playing cyberpunk, I downloaded it from dodi and now i've noticed in one month or so, cyberpunk will receive a major update so I will need to reinstall the game with the update. How can I keep my save?
