Menippus is the only one that’s really good as a planter.

You’re not very familiar with 3D printing as a hobby are you.

But yea, it’s probably way worse that the PET you drink your water from.

I have, most of those are PET-G

The big one, Menippus is a little over 500g at that scale.

The orange one is silk pla, currently 8+ months outside. It’s starting to get a little brittle

OMG, Pareto analysis… so sexy.

Oh, I’ll have to check out peertube. Thanks for the information.

I wonder if some form of bit torrent client may be of use here.

(Help Request) Support Setting Issues (www.polymerpeculiarities.com)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by Rutty@sh.itjust.works to c/3dprinting@lemmy.world

I have been printing a number of sculptures this week and while mostly good, I am seeing repeated issues associated with settings.

First, supports will wrap around a hand or foot and can be difficult or impossible to remove without damaging the print.

Second, a support will fall over resulting in spaghetti infill/gaps for a portion of the print.

I am printing with both a Bambu Lab P1P and X1C using Overture Rock White PETG.

I figured I'd try out lemmy on a problem I am having with my recent prints. If you'd like to help, see the following videos of the two models I have been having Issues with:

  1. Eevee
  2. Circus Elephant

Some things I see are: A. Under Extrusion on the nose and eyes on the eevee B. Some weird sharp plastic extrusions near the base of the right ear of the eevee. C. The key on the elephant's forehead D. The elephant's ears and any place there a geometry change due to a feature.

I am using a P1P with 0.4mm brass nozzle, using generic silk pla settings. Filament is Mkoem 2 Color in 1 Co extrusion Silk PLA.

I am happy to supply more detail or specific print settings, but right now, I'd like to understand:

I. Why it is happening? II. How to fix the quality of the print. III. What are some preventive maintenance activities that I should be performing.

The links are to Youtube. The Circus Elephant is by Flexi Factory and can be found on Patreon. The Eevee is by Filament's Folly and can be found on Patreon.

I've been thinking about taking steps to sell at my local flea market.
