Unemployment. Like many others, I keep an emergency fund with high yield that can keep food on the table for the fam while looking for a new job. Replenish as soon as I get a new job.

Democrats (72%) are much more likely than independents (35%) or Republicans (7%) to view themselves as “better off.”

So, it's basically all political. I bet if exactly the same economic scenario played out over the past four years, but with Trump as the president, the numbers would be reversed with 72 percent of Republicans and 7 percent of Democrats viewing themselves as better off.

People forget very quickly. Just look at what's happening in Germany and Austria and the Netherlands and France and Italy. It's like everyone's ignoring history.

I'm a dual citizen. I already renewed my EU passport and I'm preparing to move my family out of the US by the end of the year. If Harris wins, I'll consider staying but will likely still move. Seems like half the people around me are ok with letting Trump back in after all we've already gone through with him. Can't have my kids grow up in that environment.

There is one candidate who is a lot more serious than the other. Maybe not serious enough, but still more serious.

I wonder how many will vote for conservative candidates who do not care about the climate crisis or choose not to vote. My guess is quite a few. Unfortunately.

I hear Florida is nice during hurricane season.

Sure. As long as he goes, I'll support it all day long.

I'm sure it makes money and he may not F it up, but that's not the point. The point is that Elon has turned into the douche of the century along with his butt-buddy Trump.

As with X, I'll support it as soon as he's out.

Stop supporting Elon.

I have everything pretty much ready to launch full time. Time, skills, customers, support from family. But I'd leave my current job behind and with it my family's health insurance for the foreseeable future. I can't afford any of the options I've seen. It's the one thing holding me back. Any ideas for affordable health insurance for startups? If you've been in the same situation, what did you end up doing?

I've also seen US teachers spending hundreds of dollars out of their own pockets to stock classrooms.

I spent a lot of time in European schools and I've never heard of teachers having to stock their own classrooms or fundraise for things like playgrounds, etc.
