I'm trying to do space exploration and Jesus it has a hell of a curve, especially if you're playing alone

I wonder if this is going to cause a surge in immersive sims/a focus on emergent gameplay. If you just set up the tools and framework you don't have to specify the paths for the story, just the guidelines.

Base game, not including mods? It's comparable, especially if you didn't like career mode and preferred science mode. I can see where they're going and I really like it personally.

However, if you also include mods, and you kinda have to... the sheer quality and amount of mods that really elevate ksp1 is going to make the answer to this question "no" until it has been out for years. You simply cannot compete with a decade of overhauls, dlc sized expansion mods, and visual upgrades.

My current issue is that I can't remote into the machine at all beyond ssh. Any attempt at a session just refuses to work no matter what guide, fix, video, forum post, etc I follow.

ADHD is a mental illness due to it being a disorder. The lack of dopamine uptake is a disorder, as well the symptoms negatively affecting day to day activities and lifestyle is a disorder. I understand the dislike of the term "mental illness" because it has a negative connotation, but it's the truth, and overcoming it requires treating it as such. I've had to come to this realization myself after years of self hate and blame, and my therapist really helped put it into perspective.

Tapes are a great archival medium, they have a very low cost per gb, and are able to be stored for decades. The only comparable medium is CD and other optical media like Blu-ray.

Hard drives have an expected life span of only around 5 years due to the moving parts, and while flash storage lasts about 10 years.

Word on the street was that it was supposed to be a setup for the Borg

If I'm reading this right, it isn't even the real numbers they're working with. It's their "proprietary data model."
