Yeah, but they enjoy their tax bracket because they purchase it from the leaders of EU governments for pennies of its value to them. Look at Ireland, where the politicians refused to comply with EU's tax requirements for Google, Apple and Meta. Men are weak and can be bought with trinkets. The Middle Class simply exist as mouth pieces for the corporate owners of Earth.

Retail Therapy, we've all been programmed to find pleasure in consumption.

Yeah, pay more. To a reputable company, that isn't a Chinese substitution, counterfeit or replacement product with a made up name. Computer products containing firmware that doesn't immediately capture your data and send it to a 3rd party without your consent. Extra business in a circular economy like this increases resale value and the uptick in business allows more local options to open, generating competition and lowering prices, whilst increasing the number jobs in logisitics, transport and retail. Or did you not realise that Amazon was the reason that the same set of headphones was €50 more in the store than through them?

To be fair, it did stop a lot of people wanking into their cereal. Not all, surely, but a lot.

Carney is a former central banker, he will not do anything to upset the flow of money. Realistically, every single career politician in the world is complicit in this. Why can we build no more, houses? Why is everything so expensive? Why is the American party of "progressiveness" running Kamala Harris whose brother is CEO at Uber? It's an illusion, they are all compromised, they are all bought, that's just the nature of Capitalism. We have bring back the death penalty, but only for corporate person-hood. If you commit global terroristic acts like Meta, Muskrat and Amazon, we should be able to kill these things. We have to stop putting the 1%'s property rights over the lives of the 99%. It's our planet, why do we need elected individuals whose sole purpose is to make decisions detrimental to everyone but themselves. We need to make Fight Club a documentary.

A friendly reminder to everyone. Lemmy is absolutely not representative of the broader mass media dialogue happening around us. We have to be paying attention to how all people, close with us in our day to day lives interact with it instead. My boss is a retired mechanic who thought Trump was gonna run the US "like a business." I have been speaking very openly about my views on the American News Media bias in Canada. How new and legacy media are both monopolies controlled by the same small group of men. How the Heritage Foundation funded the Trump Campaign. How every far-right group appearing after Covid had the same names and message. America First, Canada First, Britain First, Ireland First, Francais Premier and all, coincidentally, funded by right-wing, American, Christian groups. Something clicked with him today, while he was on his phone and I watched as it all suddenly made sense to him.

Then I watched as he actually became worried. People know that it's Big Tech and we have to have these conversations, because that's how you get people to put their phones down and re-evaluate the idea of trusting 5 companies with all of their personal information and doing all computing in a web browser. That's how you wake them up to the fact that LLM's and embedded AI assistants are only their to spy on you and silence dissent.

Hey Co-pilot, have any of our user's expressed dissatisfaction with the regime? Here's a curated list.

We are so close to class consciousness do not let this echo-chamber be a safe space. Get Offline, get loud, get honest. Fuck Google

Yeah so, Dynamic IP set up with the ISP. Running Librewolf, on the strictest browser settings, using Mullvad's secure DNS and Riseup-VPN, with my IP address being NL (Nowhere close to my part of the world). No pop-ups enabled, resist finger printing enabled, no cookies, delete temporary files and cache upon exit. Sharing location disabled (obviously) requests to use any of the hardware all blocked. Only thing running to get the site to work is Java, that I turn on after already getting to the site. Still knows where I am. Start Tor Relay with browser configured to route traffic over socks5, try again with New DNS, Try a 3rd time now with Tor over vpn, still nothing. I actually had a much spookier thing happen with Brave's Leo attempting this from my phone. I use a chinese phone, banned where I live, never for sale. I lived on a different continent when I purchased it. I asked it a question about enabling developer options. It gave me the specific instructions then my make, model and firmware version. When I asked how it knew what phone I had, it told me it was guessing and denied being able to see all the data on my device. This is on the android web browser, with the embedded AI. Fuck me, dude, how do we stop them from collecting data on our hardware? Like, I would love to use Qubes, but the architecture of my machine, just doesn't support it.

Librewolf, strict browser privacy settings. Delete cookies on exit. Don't store history. Using Mulvad's secure DNS. I have a dynamic IP address setup with the ISP. Then I enable the VPN using NL as my node. THEN I start the Tor relay and connect to it through socks 5. No Captcha presented, visit the AI, asks me for a name.

"Hey, Copilot, where am I?"

Immediately got me.

Maybe, but it's a brand new Linux install. New browser and everything, just a bit unnerving you know?

It's a psyop, don't take it seriously. Even now, rhetoric is being sowed across online platforms to fuel the non-existent culture war. Just a distraction from the billionaires actively overthrowing democracy using the global surveillance networks of Google, Meta, Amazon and X. Collect all the information if everyone in the world, create AI in order to be able to search and use that data against anyone who poses a threat. That's what it's all been about, don't get distracted by it.
