But Jesus drove a Honda.

"For I do no speak of my own Accord"

Guess road rage would make him a little cross?

[–] witheyeandclaw@lemmy.world 7 points 7 months ago

Not everybody knows how to do everything! Driving isn’t the only thing!

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 7 months ago

jesus would totally be a rabid car hater, they're everything the bible says is sinful

like do you think a pickup truck fits through the eye of a needle?

Jesus could be heard yelling "It's GREEN! What were you born in sin!? Move!"

I was hoping it wasn't too over the line

I knew Kirk was Jesus.

Larger boats had wheels to control their rudders though. It's a historically valid expression.

[–] Assman@sh.itjust.works 12 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Rudder-equipped vessels were driven by a tiller until the 18th century.

Okay that's a lie, I looked it up on wikipedia

Yeah probably 17th century - confirmed as early as 1703 but expected to have existed earlier. So I was definitely wrong. But how do we know it wasn't invented thousands of years earlier and forgotten? But yeah, not in Jesus' time.

[–] Assman@sh.itjust.works 5 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Maybe Jesus invented it and forgot to write down the design? We'll never know.

(Does this guy know that 1703 was the 18th century?)

I’ve seen you a few times now and wanted to give you a heads up. Your videos don’t seem to play on the browser client.

[–] dingus@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

What does "the browser client" mean? I can see the gifs of the person you are responding to both when using Brave browser to access lemmy.world, and on my phone using Voyager.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Weird. Might be an issue with me, then.

[–] fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

I can't see them from Jerboa.

[Edit] Though I can long-press on the broken image and "Open Link" and then see it.

[–] dingus@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

What are you browsing on? I'm also wondering if it could be a federation issue unrelated to whatever client you're using.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 months ago

Browsing from iOS right now. I checked from lemmy.world and found that it still wasn’t visible. It’s definitely an issue with ios safari as desktop Firefox rendered it without issue.

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Can’t see this on iOS, neither Voyager app nor any browser.

I’ve asked your admins for a fix, few days back!

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 3 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (1 children)

It works for me. Maybe try using Eternity

[–] brbposting@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 months ago

On iPhone here, not available unfortunately.

[–] willis936@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

If Jesus got the wheel I don't think he'd want to come back to life.
